Often we vegetarians wonder how to ensure a protein rich diet without any meat .Here is a thread on #Protein rich food source options available for #Vegetarians.
It is a myth that one cannot derive enough protein from plant based food to build a good physique & be fit. +

Why do we need protein?
It is required for :
1)Daily repair of the body
2)Good hair and
3)Good skin .
Hence we need more of protein in our diet .
For a sedentary lifestyle 1gm/body weight of protein & to build a good body approx 1.5 gm/body weight is required. +
3/11
Also it depends on our BMR(Basal Metabolic Rate) .It is the number of calories required to keep our body working at a state of rest.
So I have tried my best to compile food rich in protein available aplenty. If you know more pls add to this thread for the benefit of all+

These 10items are the richest in protein. Few pointers :
1) Ideal to make paneer at home from low fat milk(lean protein) as outside paneer also contains fat. So that isn't a lean source .
2) Pulses need to be mixed and had to ensure max benefits or rotational basis. +

3Soya chunks can be had as a salad (with raw vegetables ) or as a gravy dish.
4)Milk & products must ideally be from A2 Desi Cow milk . (Google for reason ) There are many genuine suppliers available.
5) MILLET (all types.Wonder food)
6) Drumstick (another wonder food)
+

7) Legumes ( Matki , Black beans, chick pea and chana especially ) Highly nutritional and they contain good carbs and fibre also . This is also equally needed.
Sprouted beans and legumes -1 serving per day with raw vegetables is an source of high protein ,vit C and fibre +
7/11
8) Peanuts ( Dry roasted or home made peanut butter post workout )
Extremely high protein and contains good healthy fat.
9) Dry fruits
10) Whey Protein supplement.
11) Egg whites ( if Eggetarian)
There are many good recipes on YouTube for making healthy preparations. +

However all this shall work provided we exercise regularly and practice yoga and sleep on time .
A good night's sleep & a consistent routine is a must for protein assimilation.
Cut down on white rice if not totally . It causes lot of lethargy due to excessive carbs. +

1)These are some commonly known (but rarely followed ) pointers .
2) Basically we need to ensure consumption of lot of raw fruits & vegetables to avoid lethargy.
3) Consume organic food (lil expensive but worth it )
4)Consume bhakris instead of chappati . +

I have noticed a drastic change in self from following the above. .
I still have sugar in my chai /coffee (twice a day) and some sweets occasionally .
Also I fast intermittently & during Ekadashi and Sankashti. (Reasons explained in a separate thread attached below) +

I hope this thread proves useful to all those vegetarians who feel our diet isn't protein rich .
Even a simple dal khichdi with desi cow ghee is extremely nutritive .
So let us stay away from propaganda 😇🙏We are the food we eat.
@Vivek_Investor - As requested.
