On the ground in Atlanta for @townhallcom. At the Wendy’s where Rayshard Brooks was killed by police, I’m told a driver tried to drive through the road where people were. As the driver tried to leave, some people attacked and smashed a window.
Things have calmed down. There’s a large makeshift memorial for Rayshard Brooks outside the burned out Wendy’s.
There are some people in the area with guns. They said it’s to ward off white supremacists.
Argument broke out among the protesters. Some wanted to “burn that shit down,” while others said there was no point in doing so,
Someone took a picture using flash and a woman using a megaphone told the crowd to not take pictures or videos of the area or else they’ll take cameras away. Another person said, “And we’ll beat your ass on sight.”
One person told the crowd that the burned-out Wendy’s building was no longer a Wendy’s but a memorial to Rayshard Brooks. He encouraged people to destroy the remaining Wendy’s logos on the building.

CNN has put up a fence outside its HQ after the building was attacked during the riots in Atlanta a few weeks ago.
Atlanta locals are having a cookout outside the burned down Wendy’s.
People are partying by the Wendy’s and setting off firecrackers/fireworks.
Outside Atlanta Police Zone 3 Precinct, some protesters are shouting at police, saying the cops who have called out sick want to “murder” black people without getting in trouble.
Atlanta police had to move in to put the barricades back to their original place after protesters began to move them closer to the police line.
Atlanta police came out a second time to put the barricades back to their original place. They encountered more resistance from the crowd.
Atlanta police are out in force by the burned down Wendy’s after a shooting broke out last night.
Things became tense as an officer moved some of the makeshift barricades to allow the fire department to leave. Some in the crowd got upset and started to move it back into place. One person tried to smash the cop car and another placed himself up on the hill with a rifle.
Atlanta Police have now completely pulled out of the burned down Wendy’s area. The makeshift barricades are back in place.
Large number of Jeeps belonging to BLM protesters just pulled up.
BREAKING: Gunshots break out at the burned down Wendy’s in Atlanta for a second night in a row. People ran for cover. I’m good.
Lots of confusion in the area as people try to figure out who fire their gun/guns. People are upset since families are here.
A man was attacked by some of the crowd because I BELIEVE he was filming in the area after the gunshots. A few people punched him and others were shouting at him to delete the video.
