Paul Krueger was a friend I supported. And he did some terrible things to people. I wanted to believe the best, but it was wrong of me not to speak up sooner. I believe and stand with those hurt by him and I'm sorry for what my silence did, too.
My feelings were and remain complex and I need time to process them all, but it's not about me. The needs of those hurt should come first. This won't be the last time I let you down, but I'll keep trying to do better than the last.
That bit about my silence sounds weaselly. I didn't know what he was doing or about past harassments, but I should have been more attentive. I apologize for that. I can't change the past, but I can try harder going forward.
