TODAY: Informal Trump campaign adviser George Nader should receive his sentence at the federal courthouse in VA. He is expected to receive at least 10 years for transporting a minor for sex into the US and possessing child pornography.

BREAKING: George Nader, Trump's onetime informal foreign policy adviser for his '16 campaign (and later witness in the Mueller probe) is sentenced to 10 years for possessing child porn and transporting a minor for sex.

Nader was remanded immediately.
At today's sentencing hearing, his victim was provided a chance to read a statement via telephone conference. The man lives in the Czech Republic and is now a husband and father.
It has been many years since the victim was transported for sex and assaulted.
But over roughly four minutes, he read from a statement, saying that it has been a "long journey" and that his health is still bad from dealing with the stress related to his abuse at Nader's hands.

INBOX: In a new letter from @COVIDOversight to Treasury Secy @stevenmnuchin1, chairman @WhipClyburn raises concern that the Trump admin is concealing economic forecasts & unemployment projections. A report is requested by the cmte no later than July 2.

The committee cites a May 28 report from WaPo which said the WH is planning to withhold economic and unemployment projections when it submits its mid-session review. This goes against 40 years of the norm, including when admins sent reports during the financial crisis in '07/08.

Protests in Washington, D.C. this weekend were mostly calm during the day where moments of silence, marching, kneeling & speeches on police reform, race and inequality dominated.

But at night, a far different contingent emerged.

What I witnessed regularly were moments like this one where a protestor would get close to the line, loudly yell, curse or gesticulate but mostly, ask police how they justify behavior that gets people like George Floyd killed.

It was moments like this that I saw repeatedly.

And for perspective: there were literally thousands more instances of this below in the streets of Washington, D.C. this weekend than there were burning trashcans or shattered windows. Image
