By far the biggest things I look for in fantasy football is consistent excellence. Not so much from a raw production stand point, but from an underlying standpoint.

The player that I think is being massively overlooked right now is Curtis Samuel.

Lets dive in.
Samuel absolutely looks the part of a quality fantasy producer from a physical perspective.

He is thicc at 5'11 and 196 pounds for a robust 27.3 BMI.

And he has speed for dayz with his 100th percentile 4.31 - 40 yard dash
He was productive in college... (even at Ohio state, which I've heard is nearly impossible to do and that it should never be held against anyone that wasnt productive)

PS. Pretty much EVERY good WR in the NFL was productive in college. The rest are pretenders.. 😋
If you dont believe me, check out how all of the top 25 WR's in DLF adp produced in college in this thread.

It should be noted that being productive in college doesnt mean a player will be in the NFL. It simply means they have a better chance.
Now, all that being said, Samuel has been highly not successful in the NFL to date.
But lets add some context to his most recent season in the NFL.

Curtis Samuel was #11 in total intended air yards last season which is pretty incredible.
He obviously wasnt able to convert many of those into actual production. So was it his fault, or that of his Quarterback?
Kyle Allen was objectively one of the worst quarterbacks in football last season.

He made exceptionally few money throws and was throwing into danger at an alarming rate
Pretty much ALL of his efficiency metrics were at or near the bottom of the league.
I am of the belief that Samuel is not the culprit here. @MattHarmon_BYB 's #receptionperception shows that Samuel was consistently winning on his routes for the past two years.
I am skeptical of pretty much all metrics on a one-off basis, but when we have a multi year sample size and all we see is a player showing consistent success I think that probably means the player is #Gud
While we see one-hit wonders showing success on things like Reception perception, yards per route run, raw yardage, etc. Its when we see multi year samples that I throw the small sample stuff out the window.
Samuel is far from a sure thing at this point but in dynasty his value is in the tank.

23 year old, former 2.06 pick in the NFL draft, thicc and athletic, #receptionperception dominator Curtis Samuel is being drafted at WR63 in startup drafts right now.

That is absurd.
I have Samuel ranked WELL above consensus on my dynasty rankngs on Patreon and I suggest that wherever you have him ranked isnt high enough

It may wont for Samuel in Carolina but I have a ton of faith in him putting it all together at his next stop
