#HomeAyurveda Has anyone modified his lifestyle without taking any Allopathic medicines? Steroids? Or even Ayurvedic medicines? Today it’s THREE YEARS that I havnt suffered from even common cold. I wish to share my journey. Interested? It’s #HomeAyurveda All in home. All at home.
2/n #HomeAyurveda Here I start. Just read it, understand it, and apply yourself. This is my own experience in ‘pre-emptive’ use of daily use home items to take care of health. I have gone in great details on how I got there. I am sure you have your stories to share.
3/n #HomeAyurveda Three yrs back it all started with wapp forward of long list of home remedies for xyz. Over 100 of them. I must fall sick, remember the saved list, start digging well and then find out that ingredients are not there at home.

My interest in Indian cuisine brought me very close to all condiments. Now each had a reason to be added to food. So the second list where the benefits accrue only if you make the dish.

Next was researching the best ......
5/n #HomeAyurveda Next was researching the best Ayurvedic solutions for weight loss, anti-oxidants and numerous other benefits. It was SCARY. Not having any knowledge I completely avoided it.

Then came super foods, super seeds and benefits.

6/n #HomeAyurveda Each one of us has done above and what do we do? Just dump everything and develop the attitude ‘will see when we fall sick’. We always end up with Allopathy.

I had different ideas. I simply started.....
7/n #HomeAyurveda I had different ideas. I simply started by making a very detailed list of every type of condiment that an Indian kitchen has. Items that you get in a grocery shop.
I added to these the ‘super seeds’ and ‘super foods’.
Googled very laboriously the .....
8/n #HomeAyurveda I Googled very laboriously the benefits of each and soon had a massive data bank with over 100 rows and numerous columns.

Trouble was what to do with the data? Then I understood old Indian system of two meals a day with each meal supposedly.....
9/n #HomeAyurveda ....each meal supposedly having more than 18-20 items everyday. No one was obese or sick.

Very minuscule quantities of different condiments, foods etc. entered healthy bodies everyday. The immune system was being strengthened daily.

That’s when I realised....
10/n #HomeAyurveda That’s when I realised that for a healthy body I need not go for ayurvedic jadi bootis or pre-prepared powders. I need not go for steroids, JUST visit to my grocer and that was sufficient.

The list of over 100 items was split into dry and wet items.
11/n #HomeAyurveda The dry items were each categorised as per their benefits & availability. Any item that I could not get after visit to two or three grocery shops was removed.

What remained was about 15-20 items that have massive benefits and ....

What do I do with these 15-20 items? These has absolutely mind boggling properties but how do I consume these daily?
13/n #HomeAyurveda That’s when I realised why ‘home remedies’? It was because it wasn’t possible to consume 15-20 items daily. That’s why 18-20 items in daily food.

All remedies are used AFTER you fall sick. Nothing to prevent. I simply thought .....
14/n #HomeAyurveda I simply thought why not take these in minuscule quantities daily? No harm. All are grocery items. So I finally made a list and shopped. Organic, grocer, online and soon I had all.

I took most items in same quantity, some roasted, and made fine powder.
15/n #HomeAyurveda Mixed all of these. It tasted awful. THIS WAS 3 YEARS AGO. I started taking one spoon daily. Made it a habit. Slowly increased it to two teaspoons.
I realised after about six months that my yearly cough, which I remember since my class III had skipped that yr.
16/n #HomeAyurveda I continued and after a year did the whole exercise of data building to see if any new ingredients had surfaced. Revised the list.

Now I started taking two tablespoons mixed in water before sleeping. The effect was tremendous.
17/n #HomeAyurveda 2nd year passed, no flu, cold, cough, acidity, headache, laziness, clogged intestines or any of the common problems.

Third year saw me adding calcium tablets churned in powder since I am 60 yrs. 3rd year passed. Come hell or high water I did not miss it.
18/n #HomeAyurveda I suffered from no ailments and three years of this #HomeAyurveda is a pretty-emptive’ measure and not a post-disease remedy. A perfectly healthy body being made healthier on daily basis.

Qtys consumed are equal to what our daily food intake will permit.
19/n #HomeAyurveda ... had we consumed 18-20 dishes in one meal.
Avoid excessive SUGAR, carbohydrates & oil etc. Do not shun any food, just take moderate quantities. Did you know turmeric takes very long to be digested and black pepper speeds it up? Hence the combination.

Black Pepper- Grocer
Turmeric Powder-Ideally organic/Grocer
Flax Seed -Grocer
Kali Jeeri-Grocer
Ajwain-Grocer
Methi-Fenugreek seeds- Grocer
Amchoor-Mango powder-Grocer

Jeera / Cumin-Grocer
Fennel Seeds-Grocer
Jaiphal / Nutmeg- Grocer
Seseme roasted - Grocer
Garlic Powder -Online/Local shop
Ginger Powder-Online/local shop
Wheat Grass -Online/Local ship
Ashwagandha -Online/local shop

Mulethi Powder-Online/local shop
Calcium Tabs-Local pharmacy
Hemp seeds (never got it)

Each of above is roasted if required and churned into fine powder. I generally take 100 GMs of each except nutmeg which I taks 5 pieces.

I keep some powder in a bottle to last 7-10 days, rest it kar with tight lid.

I take two table spoons before sleeping and a glass or two of water.

Three years and not even common cold. WHY will any one not believe it? Ayurveda is not instant.

It took me three years before I thought it was giodenough to share. Whether one benefits or not what is certain is there is no loss. Lot of friends ask if I could make for them. Answer is NO. If you aren’t bothered about your health, why should I be? BYE.
