How 10 Indian Army men were kept in Chinese custody for 3 days after the #GalwanClash at PP14. The #ChineseArmy handed over more than 50 injured troops but held back 10 men. Details on exchange of wounded from both sides #IndiaChinaFaceOff @IndiaToday indiatoday.in/india/story/in…
10 days since Galwan clash the focus is back on PP14 from where it started. The Chinese are once again back with their tent at the point the triggered the bloodshed
After a long search, the Indians handed over close to a dozen Chinese troops within hours by the next morning. This also included a Colonel, according to some accounts. It took the Chinese close to 24 hours to send back over 50 Indian soldiers after the Galwan clash
Not all men were handed over. The Chinese army decided to hold back 10 including four officers, sources said. Over the next three days started hectic negotiations to ensure the 10 Indian army personnel including four officers who were held back are handed over safely.
Sources said there was never any resistance to release the 10 men but Chinese PLA found a way out to keep the Indians waiting. They cited procedures, asked for some more time to keep things hanging on. Some in the security establishment believe these were “mind games”
There were Maj Gen level talks between the two armies on June 16, 17 and 18 where the focus was to get the Indians released. Finally, on June 18 the 10 men were set free.

Neither India or China have officially said that 10 Indian Army soldiers were in PLA’s custody.
