#IndiaChinaFaceOff : Ladakh standoff exposed #PLA's weaknesses, made #China rejig security narrative

The Galwan incident was the first taste of combat—though without firearms—that it had with an actual enemy after getting a bloody nose in #Vietnam in 1979
theweek.in/theweek/cover/…
2/ “The PLA has been facing a challenge of absence of combat experience and a lack of realistic training. It has been widely accepted even within the Chinese establishment,” said Lieutenant General (retd) D.S. Hooda, former northern Army commander.
3/ Battlefield blood is nothing new for the Indian Army. It has been bleeding in combat every day for the past 3 decades in counter-insurgency operations in Kashmir & had also fought a limited conventional war in Kargil, complete with the use of airpower, two decades ago.

Time to be highly Alert :
If Chinese Army came with Spears and sticks, it's not because it doesn't have rifles, it's because it wanted to. This is the same Army which has one the most sophisticated arsenal in the world. Yesterday stunt, IMO:
1. Guage India's defences, locations..
..reaction time etc. Most importantly, how far they let the enemy come before they take action. Getting IA to fire, was a great achievement on part of Chinese.
2. PR exercise. Since yesterday Chinese media is busy propagating how it was just patrolling the area and Indian ...
..forces fired upon them. The image is soldiers without rifles helps their case.
3. Reaction from county. China very minutely judges Indian media and public’s response to any action. It’s media immediately catches on to things it can exploit to start anti gov propaganda ...

Since Dragon warriors or whatever are posing with some blades on a stick, I thought I would share some Indian boys with knives. These boys know how to go chop-chop with it. When it flashes, heads roll. Literally. Let's begin with Glorious Gurkhas #IndianBlades #IndiaChinaFaceOff
And this Dao is from our 'Rhinos' boys of Assam Regiment. Comes in handy when patrolling in jungles or high altitudes. Cuts through the bushes or bushy-tailed princes really well. #RezangLa #IndiaChinaFaceOff #IndianBlades
Next in line are our Sikh boy. Best avoided when they charge with their 'Kirpans' with the name of Wahe Guru on their lips and breathing fire. I am sure you would recognize them, they spent quite some time in the Dragon country. #RezangLa #IndiaChinaFaceOff #IndianBlades #Galwan

So govt supported think tank, gave platform to @China_Amb_India to lambast us. Tell us on r face that our slogan of non violence is pretense. That our brave soldiers died in #GalwanValley not only because they were aggressors but also they couldn't match the PLA. Not only
Retd Indian diplomats & journalists sat there listening to heaps upon heaps of allegations, none mustered courage to ask d Chini envoy which #LAC he was referring to. Mutually agreed 1993 or unilateral 1959? If its 1993, then is @MEAIndia lying abt no violations?

(1/n)This is the story of Leh airfield and Sonam Norbu, the first engineer from @MPLadakh who built it in 1948. The very runway, now the lifeline for India during the #IndiaChinaFaceOff . @vayusena @zone5aviation
(2/n) By Dec 1947, Pakistan aided tribals had advanced up the Shyok and Indus Valleys, the objective being Leh and ultimately the entire Ladakh. Leh at that time was garrisoned by a platoon of 33 men of the State Forces.
(3/n) With no other means available to reinforce the garrison, a company of 2 Dogra set out from Srinagar on 16 Feb 1948, across the Zojila on foot crossing it in winters perhaps for the first time. They were accompanied by Sonam Norbu, the first engineer from Ladakh.

So with the justifiably growing demands for moving on to Indian apps, amongst those being touted as Indian alternatives is the Hike Messenger.
Understandably, their creators are Indian.
But their wikipedia page gave a V.E.R.Y interesting piece of info about their 'Indianness'.
Apparently, on 16 Aug 2016, just one day after the 69th anniversary of Indian independence, Hike got a 175 Million Dollar investment from a Tencent Group led grouping!

Once again Wikipedia came to the rescue!
Tencent is a fcuking CHINESE company based out of Shenzen!
Yup. A Chinese company owns a substantial stake in an 'Indian' App!

Lastly a camp there treated as a forward outpost makes a lot of sense since its "line of sight" would allow either side to watch the other's activities in the area, the only issue is this patch of land lies in #India as per the #China claim line Image
