(1/n)This is the story of Leh airfield and Sonam Norbu, the first engineer from @MPLadakh who built it in 1948. The very runway, now the lifeline for India during the #IndiaChinaFaceOff . @vayusena @zone5aviation
(2/n) By Dec 1947, Pakistan aided tribals had advanced up the Shyok and Indus Valleys, the objective being Leh and ultimately the entire Ladakh. Leh at that time was garrisoned by a platoon of 33 men of the State Forces.
(3/n) With no other means available to reinforce the garrison, a company of 2 Dogra set out from Srinagar on 16 Feb 1948, across the Zojila on foot crossing it in winters perhaps for the first time. They were accompanied by Sonam Norbu, the first engineer from Ladakh.

India has a military edge due to many reasons including geography as I showed your boss @HuXijin_GT via my tweet thread a few days ago. Our leaders know it, so do yours which is why they are calling for disengagement

Recent mobilisation facts : You moved 4 Mech Division...

against us last week. This is in addition to 6 Mech Division that you started the fracas with. How did you start ? You expanded the scope of your summer exercises in Tibet and used 3/4 times the forces that you usually exercise with. Then under cover of exercise your 6 Mech

broke off and made a mad dash to Ladakh. Its constituent brigades (all arm brigades) went to 3 different areas including Samzungling opposite #GalwanValley Galwan. You thought you would catch us by surprise and roll down the valley. But you were stopped #galwanvalleyclash

Is it possible to "dramatize" even a #War against any #Country to stop their businessmen from having any access to #Indian #5G #Market?!

Is this entire #Drama of #War against #China & #AtamNirbharBharat is to keep #Huawei #5G out of India till #MukeshAmbani captures the Market?
Is , in the guise of #AtamNirbharBharat, the King of #CronyCapitalism in #India, conspiring to centralize whole Indian Money & Market in the Hands of his favourite State Players?

Is #AtamNirbharBharat ONLY against one country, or against all other Foreign Investors as well?

Reading so much about the #IndiaChinaFaceOff one thing remains common in all discussions that both Pak & China are rattled by the strategic and commercial development work being done in J&K & Laddakh which will debunk their narrative constructed in the last 3 decades. #Thread
Once the local population gets detatched from China & Pak India can seek to regain the lost territory of POK & Aksai Chin. The control over any land depends on the trust of locals on the administration that controls it.
For many years this region was deliberately kept isolated from devlopment and prosperity. They have only seen aggression from all sides and appeasement of selected few who helped with their respective propaganda.

Experts say #IndiaChinaFaceOff will turn out the following way:-
Clause 7 and it's sub clauses are so very possible and really scary.
A nationalist once said -
A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within.....
.....An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and he carries his banners openly against the city. But the traitor moves among those within the gates freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself......
...For the traitor appears no traitor; he speaks in the accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their garments, and he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation; he works secretly....

Friends, thank you all for the overwhelming response to my heartfelt tweet posted on the current #IndiaChinaFaceOff.
Interestingly, many trolls & all those who did not concur with my views are citing groundless, unproven, trashy & false news reports of the time when I was DG-Assam Rifles. It is irresponsible to quote those reports without knowing the entire episode.
I was @ d center of trying 2 clean up a system of its corrupt malpractices. Select contractors were being favored based on forged bank-guarantees.Few people’s monetary interests were getting hurt. My uprightness & honesty became an obstacle 4 them 2 continue d corrupt practices

So with the justifiably growing demands for moving on to Indian apps, amongst those being touted as Indian alternatives is the Hike Messenger.
Understandably, their creators are Indian.
But their wikipedia page gave a V.E.R.Y interesting piece of info about their 'Indianness'.
Apparently, on 16 Aug 2016, just one day after the 69th anniversary of Indian independence, Hike got a 175 Million Dollar investment from a Tencent Group led grouping!…
Now who is Tencent, I asked.
Once again Wikipedia came to the rescue!
Tencent is a fcuking CHINESE company based out of Shenzen!
Yup. A Chinese company owns a substantial stake in an 'Indian' App!

-Images by @Reuters spot debris in the area on 16.06.2020

-#India said #China set up a temp structure that led to the clash, media said the #IndianArmy Col burnt it down

Composite image below Image
Adding this comparison between the 9-16 of June as well that shows the camp did indeed leave some time between may & june but debris arrived instead at the same spot --- via @Reuters Image
Lastly a camp there treated as a forward outpost makes a lot of sense since its "line of sight" would allow either side to watch the other's activities in the area, the only issue is this patch of land lies in #India as per the #China claim line Image

It happened in #Kargil in 1999 and it again happened at #GalwanValley now. Even then it was #BiharRegiment who fearlessly fought and in a fierce fight with the Pakistan Army, captured Point 4268 nd Jubar Ridge in Kuker Thang area in the Batalik sector on the night 06/7 July 1999
Even then the NDA Govt at Centre said a strict NO to army for crossing LOC even temporally. It was a big challenge for the soldiers nd they suffered heavy losses because of this policy. But at last they cleared our territory frm the infiltrators may be after sacrificing many lives
Today again during this #IndiaChinaFaceOff it seems tat there were instructions to avoid ny kind of armed or unarmed confrontation with PLA.Details emerging frm border shows that it was the #Chinese who killed the Commanding Officer of the 16 #BiharRegiment nd two more of his men

This is for my friend @sambitswaraj Why must you always resort to lies & half truths?
-1996 Agreement is for Border Management not a Border Defence document
-Restrain of weaponry is true for border patrolling in peace time, not when enemy has intruded into our territory
-Veterans like Lt Genl HS Panag @rwac48 say there is no restriction on carriage of weapons
-Has also said "when lives of soldiers or territory is threatened by the enemy, commander on the spot can use all weapons at his disposal, including artillery fire."
-So whose decision was it to send our soldiers unarmed?
- @DrSJaishankar has said soldiers were armed, so is he suggesting that the battalion stood there and witnessed its commanding officer being bludgeoned without reacting even when they had arms? STOP INSULTING THE INDIAN ARMY

Today 17th June is historical day in history of J&K,particularly in light of present stand off with China.
Under great Maharaja Gulab Singh(who extended the borders of J&K till Tibet & Baltistan):
Dogra forces defeated Chinese forces in 1841 in absense of modern technology in-30°
On 17 June 1822 Maharaja Gulab Singh was anointed in a colourful ceremony on West bank of Chenab.
He was a Dogra Rajput of Suryavanshi Jamwal clan.
Gradually he brought under his control most of the regions around Jammu.
Our claim on Aksai Chin today, is coz of him & Gen Zorawar.
General Zorawar Singh one of thr greatest generals that this country ever produced was a Chandel Rajput from HP, who with his Military valour & able leadership won areas of Ladakh, Gilgit Baltistan and included them in J&K. He marched up to Lake Mansarovar and won areas of Tibet.

1) This is a thread for young Indians to understand China:

I will explain -
How Communist China got a border with India which it didn't have in 1949.

Where are the potential flash points for long term?

Where are the conflict zones of 2020? Why #IndiaChinaFaceOff now?
2) China NEVER had a border with India historically. India's border was mostly with Tibet and to some extent central Asian East Turkestan.

What you see in Yellow here was 1949 China when Communists took over.
They drove away socialists to Taiwan. Gobbled Tibet, Xinjiang & more.
3) There are 2 places in China called Heihe & Tengchong. If you draw an imaginary line connecting them, it roughly divides today's China into 2 halves.

The Eastern half has 94% of China's population! That was historic China.

Most of the Western half was acquired with land grab

#Thread on untold story of 1962 indo-china war

We all know that we lost in 1962 with china. Have you ever thought why we lost to china? An army who have never failed in any operation, how it failed to china, which was considered as weak in 1962?
#IndiaChinaFaceOff #IndianArmy Image
There is an untold story behind it-

V.K krishna menon who was indian defence minister in 1962. He was very close to nehru.

On October 8, 1959, Lt Gen SPP Thorat , then responsible for Eastern Command, sent a report about the “Chinese Threat on India’s borders is worth citing”, Image
to the Army chief, who forwarded it to the menon.

Thorat’s findings were outright rejected by Menon and, worse, Thorat was accused of being an “alarmist and a warmonger”.

Pointing firearms on their faces, the #Chinese PLA brutally tortured some #Indian soldiers to death, sources further revealed, adding that the Indian soldiers were helpless with the government directions of not to use firearms.

#IndiaChinaBorder #GalwanValley #IndiaChinaFaceOff
It was not a hand-to-hand fight between the forces, as IANS has learnt and the #PLA troopers used all kinds of weapons against the #Indian soldiers, who bravely fought and tried to control the situation.

#GalwanValley
