I believe this is what some conveniently couch as being on the fence, standing for nothing in order to avoid the crosshairs of interests at the expense of future generations. This is why we vote against our values & for anyone that can WIN as perceived. 👉🏽link.medium.com/eJuS8CivB7

My most egregious discovery is the attitude of those struck with acute cognitive dissonance as to believing this is about acronyms or partisanship. Does it really matter what APC/PDP stands for seeing that the reoccurring candidates are merely swapping party logos?

From my experience in Advocacy I can tell you it is easier to rally people to hate something/someone than to make them agree on anything progressive. Same reason why people jump in the Arena to be entertained by people going against each other than people debating ideals.

The Negative partisanship ideology is a global phenomenon and you can tell once you begin to interosculate the tactics, policies and rhetoric. We have never voted anyone who represented our values in the past two decades. It’s always been about who can Win at all levels.

In Nigeria it is even worse. If you are the best candidate and you are not ready to meet 60% or the cost of elections you are not a suitable candidate because nobody will spend their money on an idealist whose policies won’t allow them recoup their investment with interest.

In America we may have ideological split between moderates and progressives but in Nigeria there is no such thing as ideology but rabid self interests of perpetual aspirants desperately changing parties to take advantage of the opportunity to Rule. It is never about service.
