Idaho did not meet all of the criteria to advance in reopening. The state will stay in Stage 4 for at least two more weeks. #IdahoCOVID19 #idpol Image
Case numbers have continued to rise over the last two weeks, and test results have creeped above 5% positive. #IdahoCOVID19 Image
Governor Little: "We're not slamming on the brakes, we're tapping on the brakes." #IdahoCOVID19 #idpol
Emergency room visits and hospitalizations for COVID-like illnesses have trended slightly upward, but not enough to throw off reopening. #IdahoCOVID19 Image
There are enough ventilators and ICU beds, but the number of healthcare workers contracting COVID-19 has increased. Hahn said that they believe these healthcare workers are contracting the disease out in their communities, not while at work. #IdahoCOVID19 Image
Little on mandatory mask-wearing: "Compliance would be terrible." Says it doesn't make sense to require a mask for someone who works outdoors by themselves all day, for example.
On people traveling to places with lesser restrictions: Little says he only has authority within state lines, can't stop somebody from going from Fruitland over to Ontario or from Moscow over to Pullman.
Jeppesen: Current testing capacity is about 23,000 per week.
What will be different between Stage 4 and full reopening? "It depends," Little says.
