To understand Islamic perspective on any issue, u need to understand Islam, it's philosophy of life & principles. Without that u can have a good debate but can't understand It's pt. of view
Quran & life of Prophet Mohammad is the ultimate authority & primary source for that

according to Quran, Islam is not a mere Religion of rituals but it is a well defined complete way of life which will be accepted by Allah. Islam deals with all aspects of our life. It doesn't subscribe to idea of Religion is for Personal affairs & not for public matters.

In life, we face many issues. Issues from Politics to Sociology, Sexuality to art & culture, spirituality to Economics r very much connected to each other & can't be understood in isolation. One's response to these issues Primarily depends on his/her idea of life & existence

Philosophy/Idea of existence can be broadly classified into 2 categories.
Atheism: There is no God or Creator
Theism: belief in existence of GOD/gods
So when someone says that he is Atheist, he/she primarily claims that he is totally a free man & can do whatever he wants

Now see it frm our perspective, when some1 says that he is Muslim (which literally means obidient of God), he primarily means that he is willingly surrendering his freedom to the will of God in whome he believes. Now in all aspects of life, he will try to follow his commands

So, in real sense, #beingMuslim is not about just believing in existence of GOD or Prophethood but it is about believing in complete way of Life i.e. 'ISLAM'.

There is no option of Partial acceptence & partial rejection of Qur'an & Sunnah.

So, as an atheist, u can freely take whatever position you want on any issue but a Muslim can't (if he/she wants to follow Islam)
So the real issue is not whether Homosexuality is good or bad but the issue is whether God exists or not & what are his rights over his creation

A Muslim can't say that I believe in Allah but don't think he has given right guidance in matters of Sexuality & gender
So if 1 really want to settle the debate around #Homosexuality, he primarily need to settle the Question of God's existence & God's rights over his creation

With regard to sexuality, V have well defined guidelines. It's not only homosexuality but all form of extramarital affairs are prohibited.
So our stand is not bcoz of some kind of homophobia but bcoz it is part of those practices which Islam doesn't approve

1 can have homosexual/bisexual tendencies, 1 can feel attraction towards multiple people, 1 can have strong desire or feelings for some1 whom he is not allowed to marry,

We don't deny it, Islam doesn't consider such tendencies or feelings sinful bcoz it's not in our control

But when 1 acts on such feelings, It becomes a sin. So as per Islam,
If it's choice, Don't go for it.
If it is by birth (which many claims) than also, control yourself, see it as if Allah is taking ur test to see whome u prefer. Ur creator or ur desires, God will reward u

So at the end, it's all about your Philosophy of life, bcoz Question of sexuality is part of the larger Question of life & existence
So,
we don't hate #Homosexuals
We don't deny homosexual tendencies
We just don't support acting on those tendencies

To Muslim friends, I will recommend in depth study of Surah Shura, it deals with prophetic approach of engagement with different social or moral issue. How prophets make arguments, built narrative, and connect issues with basic belief system of #Islam
