This is " Swayambhu Ganpati Murti "on one of the hills ' चंद्रकोरी डोंगर 'in our town.
The coming up of Swayambhu Ganpati Mandir is a very interesting fact which a few might not believe and this thread is not for such people to go through.

Of the 3hills surrounding the town which were grazing ground for the cattles, shepherds used to bring in the cattles on the hills alternatively.Chandrakori Hill was favourite one as it is shortest to climb there by reducing the stress and more time and fodder for cattles to eat
A shepherd boy as was Routine had his catttles for grazing & sat down for rest on one of the stones. Little did he know that he would be reason of making the hill a Spiritual and a regular place of worship.Later in the night he started feeling uneasy which happened intermitently.
and gradually would see Bappa.In the meanwhile he started to get feeling of the stone he sat on was actually Bhagwan Ganesh which was shared with locals. This was the time when the ' प्राण प्रतिष्ठापना ' of the murti was done & locals decided to build a temple here
It was tough task to bring the construction material at the site as it was Hilly Area. So an idea was mooted that those 'Bhakts'who visited makeshift temple should put in their efforts as Seva to Ganpati Bappa which was a nice way to gain 'आशीर्वाद'.Afterall it was for good cause
These were the 2 places and surroundings where the construction material used to be dumped and devotees used to carry those as per their strength.Gradually all the required material was ready and at required place for Temple to come up.
Initially it was a rough road/terrain to climb the hill for Darshan.Gradually the terrain was developed with Steps put in place.This made elderly people to climb up the hill.
A total of 160 steps takes the devotee to the stairs which is another 40 steps & one is at the 'Mandapam'

The Temple cameup with the contribution from Locals ,Business fraternity and Devotees.
This hill to the temple has 2 roads to reach.
The Front Road is the road with Steps to Climb and the rear road is dual one as a terrain cum trekking track which is less than a 10minute trek.

The construction is impossible without water and this was taken care by this well which was suffecient enough for construction aswell for drinking purpose.
With planting of trees and care being well taken a bit greenery can be seen around the hill but still there is scope to build it further.
Now pure drinking water to the devotees is also available to quench the thirst after a short trek on the hill.

Since the temple coming up Pooja & Aarti take place twice a day in the morning and evening. The hill turns out to becoming a Spiritual and Sight seeing Place on every ' Sankashti Chaturthi ' with devotees coming for Darshan.
