We are our children’s voices!-- Speak up at tomorrow's 6/29 Upland board meeting -- 6 pm

UUSD is holding a meeting to discuss the budget. At the last meeting they announced that they will have a short term deficit of $36M The Board President (Linda Angona) announced her

resignation. The Superintendent (Nancy Kelly) has already resigned and there is a new Superintendent effective July 1st, 2020.

But, despite facing the possibility of teacher layoffs, the district plans to approve a contract to the law firms of @F3Law to continue suing our

children with disabilities and profiting from denying them the opportunity to learn to read.

Please join me in asking the board that they postpone the contract for FFF until they can get detailed information from the special education director regarding:

--The actual contract

has been left out of the agenda packet. @F3Law has standard language in their contracts that states they can hire private investigators and the district will pay for these investigators/consultants to spy on parents.

-- There is no cap on the amount of the contract, it is

Literally a blank check to @F3Law .

--How much has the district paid FFF to fight parents?

--A detailed comparison between the cost of the service parents were asking for versus how much @F3Law got paid to deny the student the needed services.

--Who is approving litigation at

The district level since the cases are not being presented to the board for approval?

Comments for the budget will be taken during PH1; Comments regarding @F3Law are under Item 2.15 on the consent calendar and will be called on under Item G- Aud participation.

You can raise the electronic hand on Zoom or send in chat during the meeting. You can also send email to Fitzgerald [e-mail] to give her heads up that you want to comment so that you are not skipped.

It is not clear if the Secretary will

read comments into the record for those who cannot be present. Thus far, we have been called to make our own comments.
