No more euphemisms. Trump and his propagandists are working to engineer violent civil conflict, to persuade white Americans that they're on the losing side in a race war. The White House's handling of the "white power" tweet gives away the game. New piece:

We have to stop using euphemisms like "Trump is stoking divisions." This depiction is too passive. Trump and his propagandists are actively encouraging supporters to see themselves as victims in a race war. They're using the government to feed this story:

That raises a question: Why must they constantly be *dragged* to this point?

That itself is its own form of signaling.
