1/ Petrified to read the stmts coming out from courageous girls about incidents of sexual harassment & abuse at elite schools like LGS 1A1. My own daughters go there. Probably yours too. We must stand up united against this, along with our girls, and fight. Here are some thoughts
2/ First, read these posts by courageous girls who have mustered the confidence & strength to expose these powerful institutions & rampant abuse perpetuated & tolerated by school teachers & administration

3/ Some of the staff & teachers have been fired establishing therefore that the incidents r true. But it shouldn't end here. The mgmt should be held accountable because these are not isolated incidents. It is deep rooted, pervasive & systemic indifference by mgmt that caused this
4/ Several parents, including myself, have been in touch w/ School Education Dept & the Minister who has assured that these bastards will be taken to task and, if needed, legislative reform will be introduced so that no innocant boy or girl has to go through what these girls did.
5/ These families shld meet the minister without press, without photos, without any questions asked - just to have him listen to these brave girls & their parents & document their stmts so that these schools can be taken to task. Online posts can always be deleted under pressure.
6/ If you know these families, plz reach out & I can help arrange this within 48 hrs. Murad is a fierce minister & once he talks to the families & knows this is real, pervasive and systemic, he will wage a war against this abuse. I can guarantee it.
7/ We also need to lobby, ideally through minister, for legislative changes to make parents a stakeholder in the governance of schools and implement sexual harassment and whistle blower policies in every school involving parent councils, school Ed dept and school owners.
8/ There should be a public blacklist where filth like Aitezaz, Umar, Ms Maira, Mrs Shakil should be exposed to public and prevented from ever going near a school let alone work at one.
9/ There is a need to delicately educate our young girls and boys about harassment and abuse and instill in them confidence to speak up and expose people who make them uncomfortable. It should be done at the expense of these schools who charge exorbitant fees.
10/ There is a concept of tenure for faculty in universities. We need to legally prevent schools from ousting students in retaliation to kids and their parents asking questions and challenging school administration.
11/ Transfer from one school to another ought to be free whereby any admission fee & security deposits are transferrable to other private schools if parents r not happy with a private school. It will foster real competition between schools and lower the barrier to change schools
12/ Aside from lobbying for these legislative changes, a parallel class action law suit is probably a good idea to make an example out of the schools which have been exposed by these girls.
13/ Parents need to take responsibility also & ensure their kids, specially girls, r raised to be confident & brave & not tolerate any such filth & should have the trust to be able to talk to parents without fear or hesitation. This filth exists every where, not just in schools.
14/ Some parents & kids were threatened by school admin that lives of their girls will be ruined if they went public with this. That's too much power in the hands of schools. Transcripts, letters of recommendation, school leaving certs etc need to be regulated by school & parents
15/ I am sure there is so much more that can be done to fix this broken system. But first step is to come together and agree to fight the system. There are online & WhatsApp group being formed to lobby for these changes. Join one or create one within your network.
16/ Reach out if you are one of the families whose kids had to suffer through this tragic abuse and if you are willing to go on record. Let's take these bastards to task and fix the schools for our daughters and others who follow.
