So what is Ojukwu? A Hero? Your fathers fed you with lies. They couldn't deal with the fact that a 34 year old, egomaniac with less than 10 years experience as a military man led them to chaos. An avoidable tragedy! They needed to blame someone else. Awolowo was the easy target..
You owe your children the truth, You need to read and understand that

1. Seige and Blockades are UN recognised military strategies.
2. Starvation is a natural consequence of war
3. Ojukwu should have surrendered when the army blocked the naval route and land borders.
4. He continued to fight knowing well that his men were stretched and he had no way of feeding the people he kept in camps.
5. He had no right to reject the inspection of relief materials by the NA or the use of Lagos ports and land borders to move relief materials and food.
6. Ojukwu was diverting food supplies meant for civilians to his army so they could keep fighting. Why didn't he starve to death as well?

7. He had no rights to insist on airlift in a war after his planes had dropped bombs in other parts of Nigeria.
8. He had ample time to surrender and save the children instead he took a military decision to continue with the war.
9. War is not a tea party, food is as important as bullets and bombs.

Go back and confront your parents let them tell you the truth.
Awolowo should be charged with war crimes indeed..Did he seize Ojukwu's food? Was he meant to serve breakfast and dinner?
