This chat, at least going by the selections Vice quoted (I didn't listen to the audio), reads like a bunch of grownups talking about how they don't like an industry & specific personalities in it, & have a problem with it for X, Y, & Z reasons.

I don't know anything about this Away CEO backstory drama. Sorry not sorry. She may well be a terrible boss & a terrible person. Or she might not be. I didn't follow that & don't care to wade into it.
How can read the text of that Vice article -- just the sneering condescension & open, utter contempt they hold their subjects in -- and NOT feel like the animosity of the folks in the chat is kinda justified?!
You don't even have to believe the folks in the hangout are nice people. You can think they're all a bunch of bloodsuckers! But it seems hard to deny that some amount of beef with "the press" is more or less rational when you get an eyeful of how Vice talks about them!
