The people living in these towers are (typically) not the ones coming back from overseas, or those who have sick leave, annual leave etc. There are higher rates of substance addition, mental health needs, other health conditions and primary languages that aren't English.
Please #auspol address all these issues to mitigate death (a legit concern from substance withdrawal) stress, health problems, & increased rates of domestic violence. We need a health response to this lockdown to support our people living in these towers who cannot leave.
as a mental health clinician, I am worried about the mental health effects of this, e.g. anxiety, fear, depression, stress, trauma responses. I hope the residents are looking after their mental health, & given free resources for this. They are helping us by being locked down.
