1,428 new #COVID19 cases reported today in Tennessee, officially making it the worst week of the pandemic in terms of new cases. DETAILED ANALYSIS TO FOLLOW. 1/
New #COVID19 cases in Tennessee were up a whopping 74% this week. The growth rate is staggering. 2/
This is what the day-to-day #COVID19 counts in Tennessee look like. If this were a seesaw, it would be completely weighed down by the new cases to the right. 3/
The spike in #COVID19 cannot be dismissed as being the result of additional testing. Today's positivity rate is 8.86% 4/
Week to week, the #COVID19 positivity rate continues to be high 5/
New #COVID19 hospitalizations in Tennessee continue to be the highest of the pandemic. (Week w/ 304 cases is misleading because 119 cases were added on one day as a statistical correction.) 6/
New #COVID19 deaths continue to be high, as well, although experts believe they will go even higher in coming weeks with spike in cases. 7/
Active #COVID19 cases in Tennessee end week just short of 20,000 people - up 3,000 in last three days. (Active cases = confirmed cases - recovered - deaths.) 8/

And this is what the curve looks like in Williamson County! 12/
The only good news that I see today is that, as of July 3rd, hospital bed availability was holding steady 13/
Speaking of misinformation, this is a persistent untruth. New #COVID19 positives are PEOPLE, not tests. Do NOT believe this kind of uninformed misinformation. 14/14
At the end of the worst week in Tennessee for new #COVID19 cases, it seems appropriate to note that these state representatives wrapped up their session by voting for a resolution that accused the "fake news" of engaging in "mask shaming" as part of a "political agenda." 15/15
