My policy agenda starts with limiting institutional power wherever it emerges—whether in a government agency or a corporate industry—to defend the rights of individuals & communities.

We've explained many times how my concerns include tech companies. Thread. /1
Palantir is among the worst corporate citizens of Silicon Valley. The company's business model is inextricably intertwined with intelligence agencies, and profits from the fraud & corruption that I aim to end once I reach Congress. /2
We have directly—and creatively—addressed Facebook's policies & practices that undermine not only user privacy, but also our democracy.
/3
We've drawn attention to issues raised by Google employees and whistleblowers, including ironic secrecy and overlooked concerns about LGBTQ dissent /4
My defense of Apple on EFF's behalf was a battle to stop the FBI's assault on user privacy and the human right to encryption. That was a rare time when a big tech company did the right thing. /5
Even before running for Congress, my work at @EFF addressed both corporate and government surveillance. My focus has been on the latter because I recall the COINTELPRO era. /6
The California Consumer Privacy Act is the most visionary public policy in the U.S. constraining tech companies and supporting consumer privacy. My former colleagues at @EFF played a more central role than I did, but I'm proud to have supported it.
/7
I have also called for stronger antitrust enforcement targeting Silicon Valley tech companies, both on my own behalf and on @EFF's.
/8
Tech companies also deserve criticism for their actions offline, like when they abuse worker rights.

Our team has mobilized volunteers to support gig workers including rideshare drivers on strike from Uber & Lyft. /9
Finally, we've also spoken out to support labor—and public health—in the face of Amazon & Whole Foods cutting corners at the expense of their workers and customers. /10
