We have a Constitutional form of government, where laws are passed by the Legislature and carried out by the Executive. We do not have a one-man dictatorship. 
Cuomo has the Legislature present in Albany as he continues to issue executive orders. He could have asked the Legislature to consider each issue he purports to address, where there could be public input, discussion and due deliberation.
It is wrong the way the governor continues to implement sweeping, impactful changes without any opportunity for input from the members of the public who have to suffer the results of those ill-considered changes.
His unilateral action in issuing more than 200 executive orders, and his refusal to slow down the stampede of ill-considered legislation is detrimental to the public's well-being.
The governor is anything but a collaborator in "reinventing society". Instead of calling together New York's elected leaders, he issues ill-informed edicts from on high, and expects everyone to conform to his misguided wishes.
Where Cuomo, the Legislature + the citizens of N.Y. should collaborate in thoughtful, measured, well-founded policies, to address issues where there is a statewide consensus, the public will be forced to react + react strongly, when it should have been invited to participate.
