I am stepping down from the community known as “feminist twitter.”
First and foremost, I want to say thank you. Thank you for teaching me values I felt but couldn’t voice, for guiding me, for helping me find myself, and shining a light into what has become my passion: intersectional feminism.
I have learned so much from all of you. Thank you for engaging with me even at my lowest. Thank you for standing with me when I faltered. I owe you more than I can voice.

Sadly, I do not feel safe in this community anymore.
The level of cunning and the hypocrisy I have encountered this last week have broken me.

I believed that my voice counted when I confronted her—it didn’t. Instead, I was met with slandering and name-calling, and a complete breach of trust.
I have so much to say and it kills me that I have to bite my tongue. I’m supposed to speak out. That’s what I do! And yet, if I fan the flames others I love will get burnt. So here, this is me publicly stepping down.
Congratulations, you’ve silenced me. MRAs, incels, MGTOWs, none of them could.
I will continue using my account to talk about Japan and feminism inside Japan. To those who will leave, thank you for being here until today. For those who stay, thank you and welcome to v2.0.

My DMs are open to everyone, no exceptions.
PS to clarify—I will still be interacting with friends and tweets from now on, of course. The only thing that changes is that I’m not doing it “for the community,” anymore. Just for the people I love.

Sending love.
I am humbled by everyone's support and affection😭💜
