Is it just me or do we not have #wmata Board meeting audio today?
(Nevermind, they fixed it. But we missed the Executive Committee.)
A recent FTA audit of the #wmata Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) program found 15 deficiencies; agency staff says 10 corrective actions have been accepted, and 5 others are pending approval.
I discussed this a bit in my @ggwash story yesterday (ggwash.org/view/78345/a-r…). The derailment technically still could have occurred under ATO, but probably would be less likely. #wmata
Metro's latest official position on restoring ATO (as of 2019) is that it is lower priority than other projects, and that there was no timeline for restoration. #wmata (wamu.org/story/19/12/10…) 
The #wmata Executive Committee adopted these changes to increase acquisition limits, but incorporated a motion from MD's Goldman to put off the direct COTS purchasing change until staff comes back with cost thresholds.

The committee also adopted this #wmata OIG report, which we're not allowed to read, but says (according to OIG Cherrington) that WMATA "may not be prepared to adequately respond" to data breaches.
#wmata COO Joe Leader says engineering departments are reviewing a study and looking signaling, whether to switch back to ATO or upgrade to another, and automatic ops in general.
Impastato notes at least one discrepancy in ROCC's handling of Tuesday's derailment - the controller should have immediately acknowledged the incident, and the call to MCFRS should have happened then. Both of those instead occurred ~6 minutes after the incident. #wmata

@SimplySJG #wmata Board cmte also approved adding $79.3M to CIP for new 1900-space New Carrollton garage. "It's an unusual garage" says Nina Albert - garage includes adding bus loop and kiss/ride area, also commuter bus parking/waiting area. $ include improvements to existing garage too.
