DID EUROPE REALLY UNDERDEVELOP AFRICA?
Issues from the Trial of Ibrahim Magu.

Nigeria is often used as a proxy for Africa in discussions of governance and development.

I believe one of the reasons we have remained underdeveloped is our love for destructive politics.
The destructive politics we play has no rules of morality or ethics. We abhor decency and hard-work. Core Societal values such as truthfulness, integrity and simple-living are openly mocked. Criminals have become our heroes. Children of thieves have the effrontery to talk.
I have seen some friends and associates rejoice at Magu's present tribulations and I must say I am more afraid for our country. How can you be happy that the war against corruption in your country is suffering a set-back?

No evidence against Magu yet but we have condemned him.
I no more believe in the postulation that Europe underdeveloped Africa. It's now clear that it is Africa that keeps underdeveloping itself through the proclivities of its citizens to plunder and corruption.

Walter Rodney's thesis was valid for a time.
If Ibrahim Magu is found truly guilty and removed then it is a win for the country's war against corruption. If he is found innocent of the charges , then @MBuhari will do well to return him back to his post.

What we must not do is to weaken the EFCC inadvertently for any reason.
Most condemnable is the so-called opposition's and PDP leaning fencists' rejoicing at the travails of Magu. This is simply asinine behaviour. Magu was only doing his job. What should interest all of us at this point is the Truth...and for appropriate action to be taken.
I also join others in condemning those journalists and bloggers who have been spinning imaginary tales of imaginary LOOTS of Ibrahim Magu. This act is despicable and we need you guys to desist.

What Nigerians want is a country that works for everybody.
We Africans, Black people, Nigerians must pick up the gauntlet and build our countries. It is time for us to take responsibility for our economic advancement; our commitment to the eradication of corruption must not be shaky nor must it be unecessarily politicized.
