I can’t believe I have to do this, but here’s a thorough debunk of the QAnon Wayfair conspiracy theory, since it’s pervasive on civilian parts of the internet.
One conspiracy theory is that the astronomical prices of some of the Wayfair pillows must mean they’re shipped with a child!

In the case of some personalized pillows, entering the name of anything a little weird will drive up the cost to about $10,000.
Other sites have exorbitantly priced basic items all over their sites too. Amazon also has a $10,000 pillow and $11,000 cabinet sold.

People have been writing ludicrous, pretty funny fanfic in the reviews for years.
Another conspiracy theory is the names of the cabinets/pillows on Wayfair are the first names of lost children.

Furniture stores frequently use first names. (Ever been to IKEA?)

Here are the first names I got from a random name generator on Wayfair. A rug! A chair! A cat tree!
Also, some of these “matching first names of lost children” have already been found, as online missing children databases aren’t always up to date.

One of the women who was dragged into the conspiracy theory did a Facebook Live post asking people to stop.
Another conspiracy theory alleges Wayfair’s President of Operations was seen at a gala with Ghislaine Maxwell. The person in the photo is actually actor George Bamford.

It’s unclear who the “president of operations” would even be.
The genesis of the Wayfair conspiracy theory was purely QAnon. It was posited by a mid-sized QAnon influencer on Twitter last month before being reignited on Reddit’s r/conspiracy board two days ago.

It has since made the rounds on TikTok and Facebook.
Anyways, I have been inundated all day by some scary-sounding people calling me a pedophile for not thinking an expensive pillow on Wayfair is proof of a Satanic child sex cabal.

It has honestly made me viciously sad and the coordinated campaigns are becoming hard to deal with.
These theories are a remarkable disservice to the people who work hard to find real, actual trafficked children, who are frequently captured by someone they know in their own lives.

If you want to help take down actual child trafficking, look into organizations like UNICEF, or consider helping out with the Human Trafficking Hotline, which deals with the real-world horror of sex trafficking.

I can explain that! Here's some more:
Another conspiracy theory claims if you put Wayfair product codes that start with "SRC" into Yandex (basically Russia's Google), you get pictures of small children.

Pretty much any query places after SRC returned pictures of kids on Yandex last night.
Also, people who think I'm running cover for Wayfair are doing a disservice to my true feelings on it, which is that I think it's become super overpriced, and I don’t know where to get an end table now.

I would never run cover for a website with such expensive end tables.
