These ppl have a lot of charts & gotchas & caveats, which could be debunked w/ actual information but why bother? The Virus Truthers aren't being driven by numbers -- those are just window dressing. No, they're being driven by two narrative that are, unfortunately, mostly true.
These two narratives have nothing to do with the actual behavior of the virus in the world, but rather are about pollution of the infospace. They are:
1. The media peddles garbage clickbait
2. Too many public health experts are agenda-driven, attention-seeking hypocrites

It all boils down to what was obvious at the beginning of all this: trust in institutions is justifiably minuscule in 2020 America, but institutions (& trust in them) are what you need to combat a contagion.
There is a simple reason we're going to end up with well over a 20% attack rate in the US: people don't believe it until they see it first-hand, therefore it will burn to the point where everyone has seen it first-hand.
