Perhaps the simple reason mask usage isn’t higher in the UK is because govt hasn’t been encouraging people to wear them: most Brits who don't wear face masks think masks are good for public health (51%), and would support making them compulsory (51-83%).

Brits haven’t seen politicians leading by example on face masks. Few (9-13%) think they have ever seen Starmer, Hancock, Sunak or Patel wearing a mask, and the same would likely have been true for Boris Johnson if not for this weekend’s photo op...
