Are you excited about CS @AMB_A_Mohammed candidature for the position of DG of the @wto?

Last week, we saw President Uhuru Kenyatta make an endorsement statement, an indication that he has complete confidence in Amina the person & her competence in this capacity.

But many of us are still asking.. mmm, but why Amina? I have a few things to say that maybe, maybe makes her the ideal
candidate from my perspective. This is a woman I really love and admire. #AminaForWTO

1. Amina is a #chevening Scholar for the year 1993-94. By this mere fact, you know that she’s an outstanding leader and has a vast global network rallying behind her. We are proud of her, and we are happy to see her fly our Kenyan flag even higher when she grabs this position.

2. In this photo, we see three women that have been present since 2013 when Uhuru Kenyatta became our President. Amina is among the three women that have been Uhuru’s Foreign Ministers, a role that she handled with utmost dedication and humility! #AminaForWTO

4. While at it, we MUST commend the President for entrusting these women with such an important docket since 2013.Bringing strong, focused, strategic leadership in Kenya's management of global affairs.These women,have offered nothing but that and I bet our President is happy 😍

5. Amina is our best-known female figure globally. Again, this is because of the international profile she’s held over the years. And yes, Africa has presented 3 candidates, very qualified! There’s absolutely nothing wrong with a continent of 54 countries presenting 3 candidates

6. In her own words during yesterday’s press briefing, Amina defended the move, “This is the reason why the caliber of candidates that have come forward is so distinct and I don’t think that Africa should be penalized for putting forward a number of candidates “ #AminaForWTO

7. When it comes to her competence in this position, Amina has been in the trade and foreign affairs space for 25 years plus. She’s walked the corridor’s of WTO and negotiated trade agreements. She understands WTO! She’s definitely better placed for the role 😍😍

8. She's got contacts with Presidents and Prime Ministers because of her previous roles. She doesn’t need any introductions at the international level @bbaschuk @MwangiMaina_ @MacOtani @OliverMathenge @Ali_Manzu @ngeleali #AminaForWTO

9. Finally, she, most importantly, provides us with the best opportunity to win 🤓🤓 I will rally behind Amina, I hope you too!I love seeing women shinning, at the spaces that matter the most! And WTO is one such space! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽Go @AMB_A_Mohammed
