CBP and ICE have been barely accountable to anyone even before Orange Hitler came into office. But he made it waaaay worse.

Today, CBP and ICE consider themselves accountable only to the President, and the current President in particular.
Their leaders have routinely lied under oath to Congress, defied court orders, not followed even their own rules, and more.

I repeat: CBP and ICE are Trump’s Brownshirts and if you think it’ll all be ok under a Democratic President, you’re very much mistaken.
The reality is that we cannot have government agencies like these, which are both totally unaccountable AND in a position to exact misery on untold hundreds of thousands of people. That is a BAD combination.
This is why we really need to do much, much more than just #AbolishICE. This goes higher than ICE alone. We need to abolish all of DHS.
