WHY RICH PEOPLE HAVE POOR RELATIVES
The reason why what government is doing may never be enough to uplift some people out of poverty, may be the same reason why those of you sending money from abroad, may never send enough home to set these people free from a life of penury.
Look very carefully when you meet strangers asking you for a help they should readily find in their immediate family constituencies.
A guy in the US introduced me to his elder brother in Nigeria, from whom I normally collect natural honey, after paying into a family account.
Late last year, the man in Nigeria started lamenting how the junior one in the US has refused to help him get a car. I later found out the person in the US is actually studying and sells honey to fend for himself and other extended family in Nigeria, including this elder brother.
This elder brother was sending me distress messages during the lockdown, demonizing the one in the US, and that he is about to die of hunger because there's barely a cup of garri left for his family. He continued begging for cash after I had deposited with him N80,000 for honey.
I called and lashed the guy in the US for neglecting the elder brother. Strangely, he will tell me thank you for helping his brother, apologizing that covid-19 has affected sales in the US. It is the person that linked me to this brothers that eventually told me what's going on.
Its their granddad that left them a honey farm in Ekiti with timber trees, where rare African bees breed. With hard hustling, the man in the US found a market for the honey because of its uniqueness. The honey has a rare Glycemic Index of <53 and Water-In-Honey content of ~11%.
Early this year, after a natural remedy company in Bradley, Illinois, showed interest in their honey for its brand of expectorant signed ~$1,8Million deal, the company placed its first order, but the supply didnt happen as there was no honey from Ekiti & my 80k too is hanging. 😭
The elderly man in Nigeria, who told horrible stories about the one in the US, had cut all the honey bee trees and sold them as timber to sawmills for N770,000 before d lockdown. He didnt drive the second hand car he bought with the money for up to 2 weeks before it packed up.
