Today we’re introducing you to the EVEN MORE AGGRESSIVE side of Operation Save America! It’s time to learn about Missionaries to the Preborn (we’re sorry, so sorry you have to learn that name) and Defy Tyrants! #OSAunmasked
First up, meet the founder of both groups, Matt Trewhella. Just a chill dude who wrote a book called “The Doctrine of the Lesser Magistrates: A Proper Resistance to Tyranny and a Repudiation of Unlimited Obedience to Civil Government” and advocates for violence! #OSAunmasked
You might ask, why did he found TWO groups? Maybe he just loves to found things! First up Missionaries to the Preborn, its mission is to hold posters with images of bloody fetal remains (often doctored) in front of abortion clinics to scare patients. #OSAUnmasked
They’re PROBABLY what you think of when you picture an anti-abortion protester. Gruesome, cruel, in it for the shock value, bad guys. We’re just gonna … link to some poster examples here. Trigger warning. #OSAUnmaskedfacebook.com/pg/AbortionFro…
OK onto Defy Tyrants! The name really says it all. They think if politicians pass laws they don’t agree with they should not ONLY ignore them but also ACTIVELY fight against them. And to them “tyrants” means anyone who makes them do things they don’t want to do! #OSAUnmasked
Their focus is mostly abortion, but SURPRISE! To them “tyrants” can also be … face masks! Some recent Defy Tyrant blog posts include: “The Real Evil Headed our Way: Contact Tracing" and “Misdemeanor for No Face Mask: Will there be Defiance in Washington?" #OSAUnmasked
Side note: we just want to note the section of their website on “Second Amendment.” Is that GOD’S LAW, friends? That’s not a “tyrant” law too? Dope, dope dope dope. Also they like cops. Cops are never tyrants, we guess. #OSAUnmasked
You know who are tyrants to them? Duh, abortion providers. Trewhella signed a letter calling the murder of Dr. David Gunn "justifiable homicide.” And he’s a pastor! What a very warm pastorly message! #OSAUnmasked
These groups are terrifying and we can’t look away. They think they’re above the law and they also have a shifting idea of what God’s law even means. Ask yourself: how far do you think they’d go in their pursuit of their “justice”? #OSAunmasked
One thing’s for certain: We wouldn’t want one of these maniacs standing between us and a completely safe medical procedure. #OSAunmaskedosaunmasked.com

For #My40Days, let’s talk about MINDFULNESS about how we discuss abortion with friends, people who've had abortions, your aunt Linda, your dentist, and so on. Let’s start with a big one: why we’ve (mostly) stopped saying “pro-choice.”
We are ALL about letting people have agency over their decisions. So yes, naturally, “pro-choice” works well for that. #My40Days
But we also have to think about who “pro-choice” leaves out. The healthcare system and the WORLD are effed up and create all kinds of barriers for people who want to be parents. So for some people maybe it’s not a “choice” to have an abortion so much as a necessity. #My40Days
#RBG taught us to stand up to sexist ghouls. Now that she's gone, misogynists are twirling their gross mustaches, gearing up to replace her legacy with an anti-abortion extremist!
Said anti-abortion ghouls have started their crusade with a nationwide clinic troll-a-thon called "40 Days for Life." #My40Days
In this annual event, hordes of uninvited Catholic hatesplainers "stand guard" outside of abortion clinics for 40 days and 40 nights. Really, it's just stalking. #My40Days
Badass of the day: Shirley Chisholm! Today is the 49th anniversary of Chisholm entering the Democratic primary, making her the first Black woman to run for president of these United States.
When she ran for Congress, her slogan was “Unbought and unbossed.” She also spoke truth to power when she said, “If you don’t have a seat at the table, bring a folding chair.”
When she was elected to Congress — also the first Black woman to do that — they tried to hide her on the ag committee, which took her away from working for the people who actually elected her. Still she rose.
Although she was obstructed by the head of the Office of Refugee Resettlement (fuck you forever, Scott Lloyd and your creepy period tracking), she did eventually receive her abortion with the help of the @ACLU, activists, and @JanesDueProcess.
So today we thought we’d tweet out her statement from the time as a reminder of why we fight so hard for everyone to get the abortion care they need:
