Do you know that the @narendramodi govt is changing Environment Impact Assessment (EIA) regulation via a new draft notification which dilutes norms that infra/construction projects have to adhere to?

This will have a devastating impact on our environment!

The new EIA is pushed through by the @narendramodi govt in the midst of the Corona pandemic so that citizens, activists and stakeholders cannot voice their opinions and organise people against it?

The draft EIA is anti-People and anti-Poor and makes it easy for big corporates to obtain clearances easily for their projects at the cost of the environment

It does away with public consultation for most projects & also reduces the monitoring system on industries

By bringing in the principle of post-facto clearances, new EIA would legitimise projects that have not received proper approvals, and will destroy more of the environment and livelihoods of local communities.

Three environmental advocacy groups, Fridays For Future, Let India Breathe & There Is No Earth B were blocked & even UAPA slapped on them by the @narendramodi govt for voicing concern on new EIA

Such web censorship and threats of cases are fascist actions by Modi
