The Federal Government has declared Thursday 30 and Friday 31 July, 2020 as Public Holidays to mark this year’s Eid-el-Kabir Celebration.
The Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola (@raufaregbesola) while making the declaration on behalf of the Federal Government, congratulated Muslim faithful and all Nigerians both at home and abroad on the occasion.

He called on all Nigerians to join hands with the Administration of Pres. @MBuhari in its avowed determination to build a peaceful, harmonious and prosperous country, where the rights of every citizen, are protected and guaranteed, as enshrined in the Constitution of the FRN.
The Minister advised Nigerians to take responsibility against the spread of the COVID-19 virus and also to stay safe by observing physical and social distancing, personal and respiratory hygiene, as well as other regulations issued by relevant authorities.
Ogbeni Aregbesola wishes all Muslims a happy Eid –el- Kabir Celebration.

Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola (@raufaregbesola) on behalf of the Federal Government today at a World Press Conference announced the Amnesty of 2,600 inmates of @CorrectionsNg Custodial Centres in Nigeria. #InmateAmnesty
The affected inmates includes:
1. Inmates that are 60years & above
2. Those suffering from ill-health likely to terminate in death
3. Convicts serving 3yrs & above & have less than 6mnths to serve
4. Inmate with mental issues
5. Inmates with option of fine not exceeding N50,000
In a symbolic gesture of the amnesty given to the 2,600 inmates across Nigeria, 41 Federal inmates and 29 FCT inmates making a total of 70 inmates who met the above criteria will be released today from the Kuje Custodial Centre in Abuja. #InmateAmnesty
