President Trump has benefited from government spending at his properties since he took office.

We FOIA’d agencies for records of guidance issued to federal employees about using Trump properties for official business.

Interior said it found no responsive records.

We also FOIA’d the Secret Service for any contracts with Trump properties.

It frequently rents rooms and even cottages at Trump’s properties when members travel with the president.

These records should exist since, as previously reported by the @washingtonpost, the Secret Service has paid as much as $650 a night for rooms at Trump properties.

There are other examples of government spending at Trump properties. Just yesterday, @1100Penn published documents we obtained that show a political appointee at DHS spent $1,678 at a restaurant in the Trump International Hotel.

Also yesterday, we learned the Senate’s proposed coronavirus relief bill includes $1.75 for building new FBI headquarters in downtown DC.
In 2017, a plan to relocate the FBI to the DC suburbs was scrapped in favor of redeveloping the existing site one block away from the Trump International Hotel.
The funding for the downtown FBI headquarters is unrelated to coronavirus relief funding and raises further concerns that Trump is wielding his power to protect his personal business interests.
We’ve been investigating how Trump potentially profits off of the presidency and will continue to demand answers.

Earlier this month, documents we obtained showed Barr met with President Trump’s personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani in August 2019 — even as the Ukraine investigation was ramping up.

According to email records, the meeting had been requested by Barr on Aug. 19, contradicting the Justice Department’s previous assertions that Barr dropped-by incidentally.

This lawsuit concerns 7 different #FOIA requests. DHS has not produced records in the legally mandated amount of time, so we’re suing to compel the release of these records.
Here’s the information we’re seeking:

1/ After someone dies in DHS custody, officials fill out a Detainee Death Review report. We’ve asked ICE for the portions of those reports that analyze security and compliance.
