Cowabunga! Surf's up for #DavesCarIDService
*The ginchy surfmobile here is a 1949-51 Ford, last of the true woody wagons.

**And before you start tweeting pics at me, please follow the guidelines (and as always: NO POLITICS)
Here's earlier Ford woody, a 1928-29 Model A. The earliest woodies were called "depot hacks," designed as taxis ("hacks") for hauling passengers & luggage from the train depot to the hotel.

And a later Ford woody, a 1961 Country Squire. Up until 1948 Ford woody bodies were virtually all wood from the windshield back; 49-51 had real wood side panels, but afterwards the "wood" was simulated vinyl. Still a sweet looking wagon here.
A fond farewell to Hollywood's grandest dame, via my pal Anna Z. Cars here are:

1. 1934 Buick convertible
2. 1961-ish Rolls Royce Silver Cloud
4. 1937 Ford Deluxe convertible (gas monkey, I think, is Dick Powell)

I'm blanking on wagon in #3.

Aha! Miss De Havilland's airport wagon does indeed appear to be a circa 1960 Humber Super Snipe.
It seems the Stooges were Oldsmobile men, with a 1936 (L) and a 1935 (R).
OK, let's get to some of your family album requests. A very lovely picture here of Mom & Dad on a 1949-50 Chevy Deluxe Fleetline fastback.
And how about these lovebirds with their 1953 Plymouth?
The fella here was a real Sir Walter Raleigh, seemingly lending his suit jacket and lighting a Lucky for his ladyfriend in front of his 1930-31 Ford Model A. Fashion indicates the photo is much later, probably late 40s-early 50s.
Let's keep the PDA going with this GI and his girl on the bumper of a 1932 Chevy sedan. Just above the GI's helmet you can see the WW2 "A" gas rationing sticker on the windshield.
Gramps was apparently a real Rudolf Valentino. Car is a tough call, but based on 6 bolt steel wheels and running board step plates I am going to go with 1924 Nash touring.
Let's close off today's loving couples with this Iowan duo. A fantastic pic, but the car is a real challenge. I am going to say a 1926 Durant, Star, or Flint, but not 100% sure. BTW Humboldt IA is hometown the Duesenberg brothers.
Durant, Star, & Flint were all brands of Durant Motors. It was founded by Billy Durant after his ouster as GM CEO, buying up what was left of Locomobile, with visions of creating a GM rival. It only lasted 1921-31, but had relatively good sales.
Now to some overdue assignments from the ol' inbox: 1967 Chevy Impala or Bel Air 4 door sedan.
A circa 1939 Fiat 500 Topolino ("little mouse"), the predecessor of the Fiat 500 Cinquecento.
A very tasty 1928-29 Ford Model A roadster. I have one but not nearly this shiny. For my money the all black murdered-out look is the best way to restore an A.
Another delicious Ford, this one a customized 1940-41 pickup, lowered and slightly dechromed, with 39 Ford Deluxe car headlights. I really dig the battleship gray paint.
When it comes to prewar customs, I really like more of a drab hue like this. Makes the car pop much more than a screaming yellow or fire engine red.
Sorry hodads, that's all I have time for today. Surfer Dave will be back tomorrow for more waves of #DavesCarIDService
