Wanna hear a quick and funny story about karmic justice in the gaming world? I know you do.
So I play world of warcraft classic with about 20 guys I played WoW with circa 2004-2010. We play alliance on a very populated PVP server, Sulfuras. There are two main factions- alliance and horde.
today was a very big event- the opening of the gates of Ahn’Qiraj, which is big enough that if you google it you will find all sorts of coverage. At any rate, it is a week long event that involves the entire world to somewhat work together to open a new set of dungeons.
Collectively, you have to turn in just a ridiculous amount of materials for the war effort. Like 40,000 bars, hundreds of thousands of bandages, etc. It took months to do in 2005 when it first happened. This time it was much faster, because everyone knew in advance
SO the event started last week, all the turnins were done, and then a small group of people spent the entire week farming materials so they could get the title of “Scarab Lord” and get a special in game mount.
And I mean super rare- there will be maybe 4-5 mounts total out of a server population of tens of thousands.
One of the guys doing it was a guy named Ahmps, who was in a guild named Grizzly from Reddit, which started out on a different server, but all transferred to my server to “take over the server."
They are and were toxic assholes. They ruined the market, trashed pvp brackets, and a bunch of stuff you will not understand, but put it this way- even though they are alliance, alliance and horde hate them equally.
So last week, in an attempt to get ahead of everyone else and the horde faction, they abused a report function used by Blizzard to control bad behavior, and mass reported the other faction to get him autobanned. This abuse was discovered, and they were all banned for a few days
The ban ended today, but here was the problem- Ahmps and GRizzly only had two hours to turn in the quest to attain the title of Scarab Lord and get the mount.
You only have 12 hours after the start of the opening (which was this morning) to get the title.
So what happened? Every single horde guild camped the quest mob where he would turn it in, killing Ahmps before he could turn it in, basically griefing him.
They killed him repeatedly until time ran out, denying him the mount and title.

And the rest of the alliance faction cheered as the horde did it, because these toxic neckbeards have had it coming since they transferred here.
It was awesome. You can read about it here and watch the stream.
