HOW SOWORE CAN GALVANIZE NIGERIAN YOUTHS NOW

Four days after the @YeleSowore-led #RevolutionNow Movement embarked on a protest across parts of Nigeria, some of the participants arrested by @PoliceNG and the DSS, are still illegally incarcerated at various detention facilities. ImageImageImageImage
2/ Illegally incarcerating the hapless and aggrieved Nigerian youths who embarked on the #August5thProtest, beyond 24-48 hours, runs afoul of Section 35 of Nigeria's 1999 Constitution, which guarantees Right to Personal Liberty.
3/ Section 35 (5) provides that an accused person who has been arrested on the allegation of having committed an offence must be charged to court within 24 hours where a court of competent jurisdiction is located within a radius of forty kilometers from the police station.
4/ and where a court is out of the reach of a forty kilometres radius from the police station, the accused person must be charged to court within 48 hours or such longer period as a court might consider reasonable.
5/ One of the main jobs of Nigeria's security agencies, funded by tax payers is law enforcement, not law breaking.

This is once again calling on the outgoing & incoming @NigBarAssoc leadership to do the needful and cause the unconditional release of these incarcerated youths.
6/ That said, dear @YeleSowore, morph this cause into a #MassMovement.

HOW?

1. Build a coalition across Nigeria's 774 LGAs, 36 States+FCT, which spans the 6 geo-political zones.

2. Let the coalition be devoid of 3 Banana Peels- Political Partisanship, Religion & Ethnicity. Image
7/ HOW?

3. Through writing, officially extend a hand of fellowship to all Youth-led socio-cultural, human rights & transparency organisations across Nigeria's 6 geo-political zones. Image
8/ HOW?

4. Write all Students' Unions across Nigeria's 44 Federal Universities; 48 State Universities; 79 Private Universities; 28 Federal Polytechnics; 43 State Polytechnics; 51 Private Polytechnics; 22 Federal Colleges of Education; 47 State COEs & 20 Private COEs. Image
9/ HOW?

5. Also, extend a hand of fellowship to past & present leaderships of @NANSNIG & @NYCN_Hq, at National & States levels.

6. Extend a hand of fellowship to the incoming @OlumideAkpata leadership of @NigBarAssoc & @NUJofficial for Legal Gymnastics & Good Press. Image
10/ HOW?

7. Dear @YeleSowore, no matter how you perceive this, you'll need to extend hands of fellowships to @ASUUNGR, NASU, SSANU, NLC, as well as other labour unions, across various sectors of Nigeria.

8. Get on board, many Nigerian celebrities & influencers on #TwitterNG. Image
11/ HOW?

9. Having done this rigorous home work, behind the scene, break this #MassMovement into smaller leadership units across the 36 States+ FCT & across the 774 LGAs.

10. First Pilot Project of the #MassMovement should be Specific, not Generic- #EndPoliceBrutality. ImageImageImageImage
12/ Dear Distinguished Comrade, @YeleSowore, among other things, the abovementioned strategies are what you need to morph this cause into a #MassMovement, transcending beyond Political, Religious & Ethnic lines, between now and 2023.

It goes beyond Twitter hashtags. Image
13/ Dear @YeleSowore, if we have more than 15,000 patriotic Nigerian Youths marching towards Aso Villa, @nassnigeria or any State Government House, demanding #EndPoliceBrutality, #EndPoliceExtortion, #EndPoliceHarassment against hapless Nigerian Youths, imagine the TSUNAMI? Image
14/ @YeleSowore, if we have more than 15,000 patriotic Nigerian Youths marching towards Aso Villa, @nassnigeria or any State Government House, specifically demanding #ElectoralReformsNow, #EndElectionRigging, #EndElectionViolence, #EndElectionMilitarization, imagine the TSUNAMI? Image
15/ END- @YeleSowore, I reiterate that the pilot test for this #MassMovement must be demanding #EndPoliceBrutality.

Once, this menace is taken care of, you'll see Nigerian youths trooping out, enmasse, whenever they're called upon, without any fear of intimidation.

BE GUIDED @MaziNnamdiKanu. Ahead 2023, restrategise to pull the political strings in Alaigbo with the #YouthPower you got.

Your men- ESN clashed with soldiers/police in Orlu axis leading to loss of lives. But innocent people are now charged for murder?👇

sunnewsonline.com/9-esn-suspects…
2/ Since Jan 22, 2021 that joint taskforce of @HQNigerianArmy, @PoliceNG & DSS invaded Orlu & its environs abducting innocent men & women, with 9 now being charged for murder, how many Igbo Politicians, paid with tax payers money- Govs, Senators, Reps, etc have reacted? ImageImage
3/ NONE! I've reached out to SE Senators to intervene on the @PoliceNG incarceration of innocent Umuigbo, but zilch.

Dear @MaziNnamdiKanu, conceding that ESN is a security stop-gap, it needs the legitimacy of law. Will cowards masquerading as leaders in Alaigbo support you? NO! ImageImage

Gov. @elrufai, you've lived in the U.S., UK, but learnt nothing. Why build roads without:

1. Speed Limits
2. Stop Signs
3. Traffic Lights
4. Yellow Lines Dividing Traffic in Opposite Direction
5. White Lines Dividing Traffic in Same Direction
6. Turning Lanes
7. Speed Breakers?
This is 2021. @NigeriaGov, @elrufai, other State Govs & LG Chairs must realise there are essential Roadway Signs, Traffic Signals, Pavement Markings which come with road constructions.

WAY FORWARD
Decentralise @FRSCNigeria. Let all 36 States + Abuja develop their own Road Rules. Image
FG, @kfayemi-led NGF & LG chairs should stop behaving like illiterates. Build roads with:

- Deep, Closed Drainages
- Walkways
- Streetlights
- Regulatory Signs: e.g., One Way, Stop Sign.
- Warning Signs: e.g., Pedestrian Crosswalk, School Signs
- Guide Signs: e.g. Route Markers Image

#DAY42: March 5, 2021 is exactly 42 days since Rev. Paulinus Offor, presiding minister HPICC, Umudim-Okporo, Orlu LGA, Imo State was abducted by @PoliceNG authorities.

@Govhopeuzodinma & CP Nasiru Mohammed should unconditionally release this innocent man to his church & family. ImageImageImageImage
2/ Rev Offor was abducted when a joint taskforce of the 34 Brigade, Owerri; 302 Artillery Regiment, Onitsha & the Inspector-General of Police Intelligence Response wrongly invaded HPICC Okporo during its morning devotion, on Friday, Jan 22, 2021.

ATT: @frankmbablog @PoliceNG_CRU ImageImageImageImage
3/ In search of ESN, the taskforce in what was an intelligence error invaded HPICC, Okporo Jan 22. The team lead acknowledged this error, asking for a ceasefire. 42days after, why is Imo CP Nasiru Mohammed still incarcerating Rev. Offor, mulling to charge him on trump-up charges? Image

SEARCH FOR JUSTICE?
Dear @Govhopeuzodinma, you're aware of d Jan 22, 2021 invasion of Jude Okporo's church in Okporo, leading to the abduction, illegal incarceration of Rev Paulinus Offor. Offor is an innocent man, not a terrorist nor murderer as alleged by the State & @PoliceNG. ImageImageImageImage
2/ Since the 1960s, Jude Okporo's church has contributed largely to the spiritual, economic growth & development of Imo State, & Nigeria at large.

Dear @Govhopeuzodinma, do use your good offices to secure the immediate release of Rev Offor. The wrong place was invaded on Jan 22. Image
3/ I'm aware Personnel of the 34 Brigade, Owerri; 302 Artillery Regiment, Onitsha, as well as the Inspector-General of Police Intelligence Response Team acknowledged they invaded the wrong place on the said day. If that was the case, Rev Offor shouldn't be incarcerated till date. Image

TWO KEYS TO SOLVING THE FULANI HERDSMEN/FARMERS CONFLICT IN NIGERIA

Since Feb 2019, today is the first time I would follow a program on any of Nigeria's tv stations. It was #PoliticsToday which featured my man, @seunokin's interview with notable Islamic cleric Sheikh Ahmad Gumi. ImageImage
2/ It is saddening to see the Fulani Herdsmen menace snowballing into a war across Nigeria's 6 geo-political zones over the last 6years, under the watch of President Muhammadu Buhari & Vice President Yemi Osinbajo- @ProfOsinbajo, as if there are no intelligent persons in Nigeria. ImageImageImage
3/ American writer, Max Ehrmann, in his 1927 poem- Desiderata wrote "...Speak your truth quietly and clearly, and listen to others, even the dull and the ignorant, they too have their story."

For this reason, let us critically examine Sheikh Gumi's interview with @seunokin. ImageImage
