Belarus. Real elections are about choice. So-called elections in dictatorships are a charade, for the domestic and foreign audiences. When the people tire of the show, the regime turns to violence.
People rise up not only due to repression and poor living standards. It’s about dignity, the freedom to control your life and the ability to build a better one for your children. Never take these things for granted.
Belarusians are risking their lives to protest a corrupt autocracy, as Ukrainians did in 2014. They should have the support of the entire free world, as their dictator has the support of other dictatorships.
