Really proud of my past writing 😎
Found a copy of my high school Honor's English thesis, an analysis on the historical reliability of the New Testament Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, & John)
Can't post a PDF of it, but DM me if you would like a copy 😁
<INTRO>
For the past two millennia, Christians have placed their faith in the words of Jesus as recorded in the New Testament.
These Christians believed that the accounts of the New Testament would bring them eternal life through belief in the sacrifice of their personal Savior, Jesus.
How can these people feel absolutely certain that the words of the New Testament are true? A stunningly large supply of ancient manuscripts, which early Christians copied from the original texts, still exists today.
Textual criticism sheds light on the accuracy of these manuscripts by comparing like manuscripts for similarities and differences.
The differences present between various manuscripts of the New Testament books are trivial differences, such as spelling or word order, or do not alter any major Christian doctrine.
The events recorded in the New Testament reflect the culture of the first century Jewish people. An evaluation of the historical events either mentioned or not mentioned in the New Testament books assists their dating and authentication.
The New Testament provides an accurate and reliable account of the life and teachings of Jesus and his early followers.
