Commentary on "Menstrual Leave" & Male-Drivem Policy

1 / P, where P = 12
As a born and enthusiastically-practicing male, I have no real weight to offer to Ms Harikrishnan's argument

Now w/ that outta the way ...

Truthfully she raises valid points
2 / P
The male half of the human race has established and perpetuated the vast majority of all policies everywhere in every industry globally

I'm reminded of the saying "behind every great man, is a greater woman" and that sentiment has always provided me a small amt of solace
3 / P
But solace is not enough. Women are as capable and competent as men, and as such deserve fair opportunity and treatment

I would hope that no one contests this ideal
4 / P
On the idea of a "menstrual leave" as approved use of company sick time

Sounds logical to me

As stated, since I'm a male, I will NEVER understand or comprehend what a woman goes thru periodically (pun intended 🥁) but from anecdotal evidence ... It must be a b****
5 / P
Not to try making a comparison, but I know if I had a pounding headache or muscle cramps, the last thing I would want to do is be at work!
6 / P
This segment is me getting overly technical and literal, fair warning

I do not believe labelling it "menstrual leave" would be wise

I imagine most humans are very private and discrete about their bodily functions

Ex: few wish to broadcast when they suffer from diarrhea
7 / P
So in the interest of fairness and discretion, i would propose that companies should increase and #RevSickTime revolutionize available sick time policies to their employees in such a way that:
8 / P
A) Hrs are sufficient to allow 2 days per month per year, no Q's asked
B) Rollover is allowed and sufficient hrs renew each year
C) Sick time hrs are given to both men and women
D) Pay is not docked for using sick time hrs, essentially it would be like added vacation time
9 / P
Perhaps that structure seems radical to American capitalist society

But my understanding of capitalism, in principle, is to make the most money

Correct me if I'm wrong, but productive loyal and committed employees tend to generate the best ROI for a company
10 / P
How does a company build employee loyalty and commitment ... By treating said employees with due respect and fairness
11 / P
Thus, numbers wise, it makes total sense to provide a minimum 24 paid sick days to all employees in a capitalist business world
#RevSickTime
12 / P
In conclusion, instead of providing women only with "menstrual leave", companies should revolutionize their sick time policies
