This is a true story that should keep every Christian on his or her toes.

#How Good Soldiers Go Down

They had the mightiest armies ever seen until that time..

And yet the seemingly invincible legions of the Roman Empire eventually fell to ransacking hordes who were once
2..
confined to Rome's far borders.

What happened?

Actually, many things happened that led to their defeat, but one of them was clearly spelt out by one 4th-century Roman General.

Here's what he said:
3.
"When, because of negligence & laziness, parade ground drills were abandoned, d customary armour began to feel heavy since d soldiers rarely, if ever, wore it.

Therefore, they asked d emperor to set aside d breastplates & mail & then the helmets.
4.
So our soldiers fought d Goths without any protection for d heart & head, & they were often beaten by archers.

Although there were many disasters, which led to d loss of great cities, no one tried to restore d armor to the infantry.
5.
They took d armor off, & when d armor came off - so, too, came their ability to defend themselves .

"In Rome many years ago, & among christian soldiers today, when you neglect your armor you will go down to your enemy.
6.
It is said that d greatest trick d devil ever played was convincing d world that  he does not exist.

#Like a thief, the devil prefers to go unseen.

The father of all lies.

He hides out of view by perpetuating lie after lie.
7.
The lies that he and his unseen forces reinforces causes men to believe that the problem that exists in their lives are simply the result of various pychological, sociological, economical, political and natural laws that have run amuck.
8.
Instead of recognising the satanic origin of these problems plaguing our lives and society, we turn against one another

LOOK AT WHAT YOU DID TO ME

this is the lie we most times believe the most.

So instead of recognising that most of our problems are satanic in their
9.
origin, we believe the lie that the true origin of our problems lie with our children, spouses, employers, government officials etc. Yes, we have some problems induced by greedy and selfish leaders, but most , have their roots in the spiritual.
10.
Indeed, the trick of the devil has been so great, that not only has the unsaved world believed the lie, but many within the church have believed the lie as well.

Many Christians today live their lives oblivious of the existence of the dev il, and because of this ignorance,
11.
we are unable to engage ourselves in battle that the satanic forces of this world are constantly in even if we are not.

And as a result, we open ourselves to living subpar and defeated lives and below God's intention for us.
12.
THERE IS A MAN BEHIND THE CURTAIN

AT THE END, WE LIVE OUR LIVES AS IF OUR FIGHT WAS AGAINST FLESH AND BLOOD.

such is ultimately a secular and atheistic mindset, and is the exact mindset Satan would have us to embrace.
13.
Alas, Paul reminds us in this passage that our struggles in this life aren't really against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.

So when you see conflicts within your family, experience tensions at work or feel oppressed by
14.
an out of control government & corrupt political leaders, take d binders off & realise that d problems you are facing are not actually with these things.

For these things are simply flesh & blood under which Satan & his cohorts hide under.  THEY ARE MERELY PAWNS IN HIS GAME
15.
The real problem underlying these conflicts is ultimately spiritual in nature.

Underlying these conflicts are demonic influences that operate through the deceived and blinded minds of men, for it is on the battlefields of the minds of men that these wicked forces gain the
16.
opportunity  to wreak d havoc & destruction in d world.

Such is how Satan initially gained a stronghold here.

The serpent deceived Eve, & caused her to believe something that was a lie & contrary to what God had said. Consequently, Eve was able to influence Adam
17.
to rebel against God.
As it is today, Adam was quick to blame Eve for giving him the forbidden fruit.  In reality, it wasn't Eve who led Adam into rebellion, but the serpent was behind it all.

Such is d nature of the war that began in the garden and continues unto this day.
18.
It is a war we are constantly engaged in every moment of every day.

We live in a worn torn world where violent assault is constantly waged.

We live in a world  in which God has spoken his word, and for every word of God spoken, satanic forces in operation seek to speak a
19.
thousand words to run contrary and cast doubts upon the hearts of men to lead them astray  from the truth.

Satan has a propaganda machine. It is always, " has God really said?"

With such a fierce war raging, little wonder then why apostle Paul encourages us to put on the
20.
whole rumour of God & by so doing, we might be able to resist all d wiles of d enemy in d evil day.

Eph. 6:13 implies 2 things
1-there is no room for being passive in this battle. Putting on d full armour is what we must do. It doesn't just happen automatically. It is a
21.
deliberate act.

2-refusal to put n this full armour exposes one to every danger in the books and consequently unable to resist the adversary.

Refusal to put on the armour puts one in a disadvanged position and hence one lacks the confidence that comes with the protection
22.
such armour brings in the heat of battle.

One consequently, cedes territories to d enemy inch by inch.
Such, in part is y some Christians experience long seasons of backsliding, lack, frustration in their lives.
Instead of being alert, they become passive in d heat of battle
23.
Without the armour, the devil finds an opportunity to pounce on d unprotected Christian thru one temptation or d other.

And once u lose an inch, the devil seeks to gain more & more.  Soon, sin gives birth to sin & to more sin, as sin always takes one further than he wants
24.
to go, keeps one longer than he wants to stay &  ultimately cost one more than he bargained for.

This does not have to be so if we realise & recognise d importance of d full armour of God.
25.
It does not have to be so, if we realise that we war not against flesh blood, but against spiritual forces.

Now, what are these armour & what do they stand for or represent in our lives as Christians .
26.
God bless.
