The Big Girl next...its got to be Eureka, is that really her brand? (Was?) She's younger than i thought she was - her drag ages her, or i suppose more kindly, it seems a more classical style
Charlie Hides next in, an older queen who's an impersonator. First impression she's no Chad Michaels, but probably about 70% less polyfilla too
Although this next queen is ready to make up for that! Farrah has either a full face done or a full face of makeup even in her confessional look. She's the baby so far
Eureka,like the vacuum cleaner, she says. That one goes right over my head. More of a Noo Noo I'd say
Next in, Sasha, looking like an evil queen. Fact she's placed here suggests she wasn't the producers' initially pref'd winner. She's weird with a cap W, kinda self-awaredly so tho
Alexis Michelle next seems also very self-aware. Underwhelming bodysuit look for her credentials. Easy to travel in, bit streetwear
Next it's #SheaCoulee! Looking fierce and allstar already in a fur coat and neon boots. The mug is Choices tho
Trinity next looking like GI Joe Barbie in drag. Confessional look is serving #SquirrelGirl
Kimora Black next...these girls are endless. A blonde asian queen who knows Farrah

Jaymes Mansfield next (last?) in a dress that can only be described as sister to Trixie's ugliest dress look from #AS3 She was my pre-season pick for first out & I'm not convinced by the cutesy-coo babydoll persona

Aja boasts about her expensive costumes, we then flick immediately to Nina, a crafty queen, I see you editors. Peppermint is confident to win this week, as is Shea.
Apart from a few chats we don't see the girls getting ready - which makes me think they were just unpacking costumes and maquillage from home. It's less than 5 min since Gaga entered & already - showtime! What??
Peppermint up 1st again and BOY this is scrappy. She has on essentially a swimsuit with two blankets on top as a cape and a sash. This is like quickdrag - not impressed
Valentina serves us sexy El Nombre. Its a glamorous matador look with open jacket, highcut daisy dukes and chaps, with unpadded bare chest artfully hidden with a neckerchief. Very Violet
Eureka gives us Divine's sister from Pink Flamingos...
While Charlie Hides plumps for a traditional pilgrim woman outfit with a somewhat awkward reveal to a miniskirt with the hat left on
Farrah Moan comes out in red and feathers for Vegas. Possibly this is culturally insensitive if she's going for a 'Red Native American' look as a white person?? But my US knowledge isn't there for the reference. Its a little costumey in any case
Sasha's look is VERY costumey & not a High in my book. Warhol inspired it may be but its a blazer over panties with a cape on top and another crown - sublimimal in retrospective, but that cant've been intentional...
Shea up next rocks a hotdog and comments on the double entendre. Her look is the most polished & expensive looking so far - I didn't expect her to go camp humour but I ain't mad
Trinity's next and this is better, we've hit a stride now, this could be a High. She has a full body bodysuit on with a vertical train which together display a landscape pattern. Might be my winner so far.
Kimora Blac with a lace bodysuit & headdress for Vegas seems lazy & not very drag. Judges response is similarly muted.
Jaymes rocks a cow print top with a black skirt and white tights. Its a bit Honey Boo Boo does Halloween & I'm not convinced.
Aja does a statue of liberty look in stretchy green fabric. I like it, a little budget looking but one of the better concepts on this runway.
Nina B comes out like a peach...literally. The mug is impressive, she's blended a cutout/prosthetic masterfully to her face, but everything from the neck down is dull - just a little purple top & skirt. Shame
Gaga looks time... Pep leading in again. She's recreated Gags' Bowie Grammy look...looks nice, but why wear a bodysuit & coat look for both your categories??
Valentina recreates turquoise bob Gaga in a minidress combo over mesh top with a tulle train. Competent & well-recreated, but nothing earth-shattering.
Eureka gives us the Telephone b&w bee stripe latex dress, & her bodywork is strong, this is also a daring look for a bigger girl. Frontrunner so far.
Charlie gives us Gaga's allwhite with lace mask from the Brits 2010 (a decade ago, what a different world!) It's polished,but not at all dragged up apart from in presentation. Eureka still to beat.
Farrah also gives us straight recreation of Alejandro's latex nun. Her mug could have used some modification if the intent is illusion/duplication
An aside: how can they score this if everyone only brings self-indulgent straight recreations?
Sasha gives us Applause music video face, but extended out into a full outfit. This is more like it. Simple b&w scheme set off with a splash of colour on the face, and a tight top, corset, and billowy balloon pants serve contrast - as intended
Alexis chooses Gaga's classico Marilyn award show glamour black dress. While it is A Gaga outfit, this feels kinda off-theme...
Shea gives us tulle Monster Ball, but unfortunately this has a look of loo roll couture on one side. Enough to knock her off the win?
Trinity goes for AHS Hotel, and this is strong. Definitely my winner from the two looks.
Kimora goes for a dragged-up Edge of Glory leather look, but not cut in actual leather. Its more thought out than her first look, but a little budget & same silhouette again.
Jaymes Mansfield gives us a magazine cover...or aims to, I'm getting Quality Street wrapper
From Nina, a dragged up twist on the red lace mask look. Great bodywork with a breastplate & padded butt against her skinny frame, but the shoes could be better. Still, this is top 3 look thus far. What will Aja counter with?
Its a new silhouette from Aja, a remake of Gags' shapeless Comme Des Garcons look, a 2d dress cutout look. Its variety, but could have been more smart & may lose her top 3 that the first look nailed down.
Predictions before the reveal: Win - Trinity, High - Nina and Sasha, Low - Kimora and Jaymes (and Farrah if there's 3)
Judges deliberate...they don't like Trinity as much as I did but otherwise their opinions matched mine fairly well! Clearly I've watched this show too long...
Top 3 are...Nina, Eureka and Sasha! I did not think Eureka's first look would net her a High.
And Nina wins the first episode. Impressive! Her craft WAS strong & I'm not mad. I'm now wondering if the first frock was a reference I didn't pick up on due to not being from the US
TWIST...we're getting a 14th queen. Henny 13 was already a lot...
No evidence of any Lows as yet...
...and the episode ends without revealing who the 14th girl is, except it looks to be a skinny black girl. I'm honestly not loving the format which seems to be chasing produced drama as much as reality show - glad they shook this off by S12
So not bad all in all! A good start for Sasha & Eureka who producers had eyes on to go far - will be interesting to see if Eureka is pushed on us as much as she is in S10. Slow days yet for Shea but Gags picked her as one to watch! 3* episode all said.
