Senior editors of @amconmag have ties to @NIACouncil & have published hundreds of items attacking US policy & promoting Iran's regime. My new scoop for @IranNewsUpdate1

The American Conservative @amconmag is secretly working w/ Iran's lobby @NIACouncil

In 2018 its panel included NIAC founder @tparsi. It has systematically run ~400 pro-regime pieces echoing @JZarif's talking points that also attack Trump Admin policies & officials inc @SecPompeo
For the record, in 2012 the US District Court for DC ruled @NIACouncil & its President @tparsi were “first and foremost an advocate for the regime” in Iran

NIAC lobbies for an end to sanctions on the regime & demonizes the opposition MEK

The American Conservative's senior editor has a long-term relationship with @NIACouncil. As far back as 2007 @DanielLarison was publishing pieces in @amconmag promoting NIAC, the de facto US lobby for the regime of Iran. Examples below:

CC @SenTomCotton @SenTedCruz @SenatorBraun
Do a Google search of @DanielLarison’s articles about Iran in The American Conservative @amconmag using the search string “site:theamericanconservative.com/larison iran” and you’ll find 385+ pieces, all of which echo @JZarif & support the regime’s foreign policy agenda. Titles include:
Here's a Google sheet listing 385+ articles by @DanielLarison in @amconmag supporting Iran's regime. Let’s be clear. This is Iranian state propaganda being published systematically by a US media outlet, matching @JZarif's talking points

Now do a Google search for @DanielLarison’s pieces in @amconmag attacking the MEK, the main group opposed to Iran's regime. There are 105+ hit pieces.

I've listed his anti-MEK smear pieces on this link: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d…

Search string: "site:theamericanconservative.com/larison MEK"
I flicked through all 385 of @DanielLarison’s Iran pieces in @amconmag. Not one is about the regime's daily human rights abuses or terrorist acts. To the contrary, Larison blatantly attempts to undermine the regime's pariah status as top state sponsor of terrorism. See examples:
Amazingly, @DanielLarison of @amconmag is also very popular among Iran’s state media, with hundreds of his pieces being translated into Farsi & passing the approval test of the regime’s censors. Even worse, the regime’s English daily @TehranTimes79 has published some of his opeds
Go to the website of Iran regime's Supreme Leader & you’ll find @DanielLarison’s articles mentioned: farsi.khamenei.ir/others-note?id…
Or try this link on the EN section of Khamenei’s website & you should be automatically redirected to a Larison piece in @amconmag: english.khamenei.ir/news/3300/The-…
What about @DanielLarison’s tweets? Here are a few.

That last one referring to Iran's future intentions makes Larison sound like Tehran's Foreign Ministry spokesperson, or at the very least someone with inside access to the regime's foreign policy establishment.

CC: @SecPompeo
When he’s not busy promoting the Iranian regime's crimes on Twitter or writing disinformation pieces about the MEK, @DanielLarison of @amconmag signs on to @NIACouncil's open letters pressing the Trump Admin to lift US sanctions on Iran's regime.

It gets worse. @amconmag's @DanielLarison is currently listed as an author on the American Herald Tribune website. In January @CNN broke a story about AHT paying Americans to write articles, while multiple investigations by US tech companies point to the site originating in Iran.
.@DanielLarison’s bio on American Herald Tribune lists an email for him associated with the site: DLarison@ahtribune.com

Larison hasn’t confirmed publicly if he is being paid by AHT (a.k.a. Iran's cyber-ops dept) or by Iran for his pro-regime pieces in @TehranTimes79 & @amconmag
Then there's @j_arthur_bloom. His recent tweet claiming the publishing of pro-MEK op-eds in "conservative" publications was "foreign policy fraud" inspired my investigation into @amconmag. I'm an oped writer, associated to the MEK & publish Iran opeds. What fraud had I committed?
.@j_arthur_bloom's tweets suggest he is in line with Iran regime's narrative of the Iranian opposition being a terrorist group. For the record, the US Court of Appeals in 2012 found the MEK was not a terrorist group forcing @StateDept to de-list it as FTO

.@j_arthur_bloom seems opposed to @FDD, has claimed @SenTomCotton "hates the rule of law" & "loves starving Iranian children." His more recent attacks on Trump Admin officials over their Iran policy include a jab at @SecPompeo, claiming he's "busy trying to start a war with Iran"
In Farsi we say "Liars have a short memory". That's not a PRIVATE email. It's a PUBLIC one still listed on the @DailyCaller website

Note, he say's he stands by his policy to censor "all MEK content". Kinda sounds like the Intelligence Ministry inside Iran
.@amconmag has openly defended @NIACouncil (Iran regime's lobby in the US) even after @SenatorBraun, @SenTomCotton & @SenTedCruz wrote to AG William Barr urging @TheJusticeDept to investigate it for potential violations of the Foreign Agents Registration Act.

While it’s widely known that apologists for Iran's regime have long gained a foothold in some left-leaning or MSM Western publications, perhaps it’s time to investigate Tehran’s quiet influence operations in some "conservative" institutions as well, starting with @amconmag.
