Well, this is an interesting document. My thoughts on a first read.
1/ it makes very clear indeed how disjointed, underfunded and undervalued our #earlyyears provision isa nd now this has been dismantled over the last 10 years; >>
>>
4/ Finally, it makes reference to #baseline ( p31) with no apparent appreciation of the issues surrounding it. >>

Thoughts anyone? @EYTagteam @SwailesRuth @thepetitioner @Dr_Pam_Jarvis @SollyKathryn @KeepEYsUnique @JamesEYFS @DrSue22 @Valerie_JKD @NathanArcher1
The @bestbeginnings document spends a lot of time documenting, and rests its arguments on, how many children haven't reached a GLD at the end of the EYFS, and yet we know that large proportions of the ELGs are not based in research and unachievable; >>
So to make this kind of 'children falling behind' interpretation from mistaken Goals is very misleading.
On the other hand, I keep getting told (by those outside EYears 🙄) that not having a Shape, space &measures Goal going forward is not important >>
as "the goals are not the curriculum"; and yet these very Goals are being used in documents such as these to make judgements about chidden "failing" "falling behind" and "gaps".
What a ridiculous situation we are in.
This document from the @ChildrensComm does not help.
