I have my own Biden story, though it’s really about my son and I. A short thread (1/7):
Back in 2015 I met Biden at an official luncheon at the State Department. Which led to this picture: (2/7). 
I posted it to social media, as one does, and then hopped on a plane to get back to Boston. When I got home, my son, who was 15 at the time, wanted to talk. (3/7)
I should point out that at 15 my son was at what I would affectionately call the “peak asshole” phase of his adolescence. He was barely on speaking terms with his parents, which was why he didn’t even know I was gonna be in DC that say. (4/7)
So he asked me how that picture came about, and I told him, and we might have had the longest conversation we had while he was 15. Which, as a father, was glorious. (5/7)
As he left, he said, “You know, you’re a really interesting person to have for a Dad.” And I had to look away so I could keep it together (6/7).
My point is, I’ll always be grateful to Biden for helping me impress my adolescent son when that was next to impossible. #fin (7/7)
