Does anyone think that Kellyanne Conway is going to stop appearing on the news shows and talking up Trump's agenda just because she's giving up her made-up title?
There were long periods of her tenure as "counselor" where it was apparent that she had less access to him than she pretended, but it didn't matter. Her job wasn't to advise him or to communicate from him to the public. Her job was to lie in his defense and attack the media.
Early on in her tenure there were points where she "got in trouble" because she went on the news and said something that she claimed was from Trump and was immediately contradicted by him or by events.
But ultimately none of it mattered because Trump's America is the land of nothing matters. It didn't matter if what she said was true or false or if it came from him. What mattered is she hit back.
I will believe that she's not still working for him... or his backers, or her own self-interest aligned with his... if she stops going on TV and talking to the press on his behalf when she "steps down".
