My church's council & clergy are currently convened in an emergency meeting looking to find agreement on how best to respond and what we can best do to help support these protests while also working to support those who livelihoods are now ashes.
1/
Bad actors, undoubtedly sympathetic to the causes of the white supremacist agenda have infiltrated social media, local chat boards, and, by extension local and national media outlets.
They are working to heighten resentment against the protesters and to grow fear.
2/
They've spread rumors that protestors will be targeting churches, synagogues, daycares, and schools tonight.
But these threats are not logical nor do they follow the patterns of other protests cycles we've experienced.
These are community wide resources being threatened.
3/
These are resources every family in Kenosha needs and uses. It doesn't make sense that anyone in this community hoping to force a dialog or certain actions would target resources that they need and use almost daily.
4/
They have also circulated rumors that "they are pushing into the white suburbs and will bring the fire and chaos with them."
Again, whoever "they" are are clearly not #BLM nor are they local.
These are outsiders with nothing to lose in the aftermath of this destruction.
5/.
Countywide curfews are being enforced nightly here now and tensions are at a breaking point..
The one thing most seem to be able to agree on, however, is that this was an egregious and inhuman act of murder. Most want those responsible brought to justice.
6/
It seems fitting that as another city burns itself down the @GOP and @realDonaldTrump are busy acting out their latest cosplay fiction that America is greater today than it was four years ago.
As can be expected they will miss the point and opportunity of Kenosha entirely.
7/
The Republicans have painted themselves into a corner and have increasingly little moral room to move.
Their adoption of #BlueLivesMatter as some sort of clapback to #BlackLivesMatter was juvenile & shortsighted and exposed them politically in ways they can't imagine.
8/
If you listen to those speaking at @realDonaldTrump's convention, all cops are good and anyone they encounter in the field, especially minorities, and more especially black men, are by extension, bad.
I doubt that many would be willing to defend that logic publicly.
9/
Their hashtag fails the logic test on almost every level, not the least of which is that we know blue lives matter. We have, as a society, proven this over and over. We publicly fund the tools they use to protect themselves for example.
10/
We honor them when they are injured and publicly mourn them when they die in the line of duty. And, yes, we have often given them the benefit of the doubt when it comes to the use of force in our communities.
All of these facts prove that we know blue lives matter.
11/
Their clapback is actually void of moral authority. It is pointless and redundant. And, when viewed through a certain lens, is asinine and cruel.
The extent to which people pushing these clapbacks absolutely don't understand what any of it means is astounding.
12/
No one in #BLM is saying every black man ever shot by police was innocent or good.
Show me the many protests that have been organized to call law enforcement to task for shooting an armed robber who happened to be black.
Didn't happen. Won't happen.
13/
The problem is that law enforcement clearly utilize a completely different set of preconceptions, assumptions, and responses when they encounter black men than they do with other races, particularly whites. These different responses cause many cops to forego any process.
14/
There should be no difference in the processes that officers use in their decisions on whether or not to employ the use of deadly force on a gun wielding white crack addict or a black one.
But we know there is one.
We have hours of video footage documenting that fact.
15/
Show me, for example, all of the mass murdering black men who, after being apprehended without deadly police force, were taken to Burger King without handcuffs, because he was hungry.
If Dylann Roof had been black he would never have made to trial.

There was no interest with first group of paintings. But, I'm desperate, so here is the third set. If you e interested in any of them DM and we can discuss favorable cost and shipping terms. Proceeds go to my legal defense fund. My next court date is Thursday.
I'm not sure if anyone on here still cares, and I wouldn't blame you if you didn't, trust. My depression and illnesses have swallowed me up and I get anxiety even thinking about logging on because I used have people on here who cared deeply and I have alienated most of them.
1/
I have done the same IRL and have literally no one out here who cares anymore. I have a major court date on the 17th and need to get my lawyers some to keep them from dropping the case and while I have some, it's not nearly enough.
2/
I've decided to post some artwork on here to see if anyone was interested. All of them will not ship for at least 7 days as I have not yet top coated them.
The sizes and materials are noted with the pics.
Thanks to everyone who reads this, and to anyone who is interested, DM.
"I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones."
- Albert Einstein
The war being fought today by Vladimir Putin's Russia will not end well for anyone. Not for the world. Not for Europe. Not for America.
1/
It obviously will not end well for the Ukraine.
But, contrary to Putin's personal hopes and belief, it will especially not end well for Russia.
This is a nightmare of a war on so many levels and too few seem to understand the implications or the possible ramifications
2/
And for those Americans who think that this is a foreign war that does not undermine our domestic interests and so, therefore, requires military, if not, diplomatic neutrality, consider the following.
Russia is a bully nation that is run by an even bigger bully.
3/
Yesterday there were dozens of Trump supporters protesting along a major traffic artery here in Kenosha, one that runs directly in front of our largest hospital; a hospital once again filled to bursting with Covid-19 admissions.
They were protesting all covid-19 mandates.
1/
They do not want them anywhere in public, and, it seems, especially not schools.
No masks.
No social distancing.
No vaccine requirements.
I know a nurse who works in that building who battled Covid and who lost her own mother to the virus.
This was a shameful display.
2/
The cognitive dissonance is profound and is a danger to all of us.
I grow weary of reading about yet another of these "patriots" who, just weeks ago probably stood in such protests themselves, but who now have Covid and suddenly its all "I wish I had listened..."
3/
The Magas in the region I live in were often fairly well off financially. Well off enough to pay both arms and legs for the array of very expensive Trump signs, Trunp flags, and other types of political detritus to fill their yards and windows and automobiles with.
2/
Your economic disparity argument was never a good fit and was based more on the guiding force of your imagination than in reality.
In 2016 more of the truly impoverished in this nation voted for Hillary Clinton than for Donald Trump.
