The affluent are indeed the main driver of the crises we face. Monbiot is amongst those affluent people.

"The affluent citizens of the world are responsible for most environmental impacts and are central to any future prospect of retreating to safer environmental conditions".

"the structural imperative for growth in competitive market economies inhibits necessary societal change".

This column calls out some of the problems & a few key people perpetuating them, but I don't see any solutions offered. The key drivers of affluence, economic growth, inequality, urbanisation and debt must be tackled together. What's Monbiot's solutions for this societal crisis?

Notice how the Saleforce logo and the "Fourth Industrial Revolution" part were airbrushed from the photograph, before sharing it on social media to create a new narrative.

There's a lot more I want to say about this.

At the World Economic Forum meeting in Davos, Switzerland in 2019 the gender balance was:

"Men represent 78% of Annual Meeting 2019 participants.

Women represent 22% of Annual Meeting 2019 participants."

Why are Jane Goodall and Greta Thunberg supporting these #patriarchal power structures?

Well, Monbiot has already pointed out some of the issues with Goodall's work, but why has Greta Thunberg been used in this way? The WEF & the media have used Thunberg to manufacture consent.
