1/ THREAD: Body Language Analysis No. 4455: Mike Pence's acceptance speech at the RNC — A Body Language Red Flag — Nonverbal and Emotional Intelligence #BodyLanguageExpert #BodyLanguage #EmotionalIntelligence #Pence #RNC2020
2/ The expression displayed above is a default expression for Mike Pence. In fact, you will rarely find it more frequently expressed than it is by Pence.
3/ Specifically, it is comprised of two primary components:

• An Elevated Central Forehead Contraction
• A partial (insincere) 'Mouth Smile'
4/ To clarify, the entire forehead is not contracted — just the center portion. Moreover, it is elevated (not lowered).
5/ In addition, the mouth component of his 'smile' is feigned. This is in *no way* a true smile (that is, not a Duchenne Smile).
6/ Whenever these two characteristics appear together, one or more of the following emotions are being projected:

• Arrogance
• Contempt
• Smug Incredulity
7/ All three of these emotions have other expressions with which they're associated.
8/ On occasion, every human being displays this facial expression (although, hopefully not too often).
9/ However, those individuals who display this expression frequently have an extremely high association with sociopathy/psychopathy.
10/ It's important to note that this is NOT the only body language behavior associated with sociopathy/psychopathy.
11/ SUMMARY: With profoundly high frequency, Mike Pence displays an elevated central forehead contraction with a simultaneous (and insincere) mouth smile. The frequent display of this expression has an extremely high correlation with sociopathy/psychopathy.
